AEM's Other Side

The VP from AEM (Devin) called me last night and we had long conversation. Devin is a great guy and I can honestly say that if we would have spoken prior to all my issues I may have not went the BS3 route. He was very unhappy with the way I was treated and assured me people would be talked to at AEM and he plans to do everything in his power to ensure this type of treatment does not happen again at AEM (that was my sole intentions for making posts on so many forums)

It actually bums me out that Devin and I had to meet on these terms because he is such a great guy.

He listened to what I had to say, took notes, and was shocked by the way employees of AEM treated me.

Devin is getting my box fixed, and completely checked out to ensure it is 100% good free of charge, including shipping back to me. He also offered me any gauge from their line or a methanol kit free of charge.

In the end resolution was found, AEM made things right....they heard my story and as a company will make changes to not do this again. I enjoyed my talk with Devin and I highly reccomend speaking to him if you have any AEM issues. He even stated that the BS3 is a great product and I will like it, and he hates to loose a good customer. That speaks for itself.

I wanted to thank Devin for taking the time to call me, and giving the attention needed to making things right. It was refreshing to speak to someone who actually cared and wanted to make things right.

Glad to hear Chris, as it usually goes you just have to get to the "right" person in an organization. There is always someone, who believes in customer service and their company......on a side note , I havn't read through pages of a link in a long time, I was captivated... :) Good luck on the car and I am still waiting for you to hit that low 9 your aiming for.

I'm glad the VP stepped in to make things right.. Its still a shame that it had to go that far..

Still because of this thread, I think I will be changing my plans on getting an AEM based on the fact that I can only spend the $1500 ONCE for my standalone and don't want to risk running into the same situation that you did.

I hate to be "that guy," but I'm going to play Devil's advocate here for a moment. You dealt with multiple people at AEM, with the same results each time, so it's a multi-level systemic failure within the organization, as far as I'm concerned. The VP stepping up and making things right is great and at least it solves the issues you had been having with them, but to me it's one of those "too little, too late" moments. He has the right attitude, but it sounds as though the rest of the employees have a different business model that they follow and that it's the accepted way of doing business.

You're a well known, highly respected guy on two of the largest Mustang forums on the internet (maybe more, but I know you're on two), so of course he's going to attempt to save face and minimize the damages they're going to see, as this is going to spread like wildfire through here, Corral, HC50, and any other sites where the site's demographic just happens to be AEM's target audience. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if these issues continue down the road for others, as it sounds like yours isn't an isolated incident. Is Devin now going to step up and fix, or replace every other AEM unit that's gone bad? I'm sure those who have had issues will be coming out of the woodwork now.

I totally agree. Although I am glad for Chris that Devin stepped up and helped him out, I feel it is too little too late because I for one won't even be considering using AEMs stuff for my current build.

There are too many other companies that sell what I need, and I will be doing research to see whos product I will be using based on CS and product.

Yeah an aem was top two or three on my list for this summer. I think I'll be crossing it out. I cannot stand bad customer service, especially on a product such as a complex standalone system that you will probably have questions about at some point.

I might try a PMS and see how it goes, even though I know there is more flexibility with a full standalone system.
