Aero nose to Four-eyed

Be careful how you throw around that term "hack Job" haha.

I also do not condone Cobra or Saleen clones, for the most part. Again, not something I'd do to my car, but if done well, I'd have to respect it. I'm actually so irrational, that I'm seriously considering grinding and painting over the "COBRA" text on my new calipers before I set about doing my brake swap this fall, because I hate the idea of having anything "Cobra" on a GT. I'd rather just say they are "twin piston PBRs."

They make Mach 1 brakes that are the same as Cobra brakes without the word on them... Thats what I bought for my car, cause I feel similar to you. But Id say go for it on the front end to the OP. They look nice, and its not like youre putting stickers on that say "four eye" like people do with Cobra emblems and whatnot.

Good point, and I agree...dont worry bout the haters and those who say dont do it is what I mean, its YOUR car not theirs.

Frankenstang...its in your name LOL, if you like the way your car looks and drives and feels, then who cares what it is or isnt, if not, make the changes necessary to get it there! :nice: Show cars/garage and trailor queens are neat, as are low low mile originals, but for those of us who have your everyday, run of the mill Fox, do what you like to make it just that...what you like :D
Matt

Yeah, I used to feel that way too but then being hassled by emissions techs and being pulled over for no reason because the cops think I have a stolen Capri plate on my Mustang. It's a hassle I'd rather do without. :nonono:

This is my Mercury Capri.

Aero nose to four eyed nose, take 2

lets start fresh, other post got pretty messy, with other people talking about stuff other than, the main post, i am doing the same thing right now, as far as i can see,

1. front bumper shocks are diffrent from the 4 eye cars, they bolt on diffrent
2. the 4 eye has a steel bumper, compared to fiberglass for the aero, with both are diffrent designs.
3. after that a 4 eye front end cover should fit on easily, maybe just have to mod something for the fiberglass under the fender, not a big deal
4. the 4 eye hood will fit on perfectly without any mods.
5. the 4 eye heater assembly is diffrent the aero cars dosent have the right hole location for the heatercore, or the wiring harness, on the pasenger side. i will include more as i go further.

o.k fu*k this, this thread went to *****, lets start a new one with no other people butting in about stuff other than to help people doing this.
He asked for opinions and that's what he got.

You forgot the headlight connectors from a four eye will need spliced onto the aero wiring harness.

yep, i suppose that is true, if your keeping the aero dash and interior, i dont have to because i have changed dashes, and junked the aero wiring harness and i am using my 85 wiring harness, the full harness, its frigg n messy, damn wires everywhere but in the end it will be all worth it. oh ya, the 91 mustang was just a 4 cylinder automatic, crappy, dirty, everything worn out blue interior, hood was all dented in cowl is dented in, so the car wasent really worth anything, just the body was rust free.

yep, but they really hate topics like this, well im kind of partital to this too, but my rare, well around here, is rusted beyond repair, needs a complete floor, rear quarters are no good, fenders are no good, rad support is rotted out, under gas tanks and trunk is rotted out, rear frame is not real good, all brake and uel lines need to be replaced, so i saw a mustang in south carolina, was rust free, so i bought it on the intention to swith it to a 4 eye, i love my car, and instead of it rotting away, i thought i would do a complete make over. hope all you understand

I don't see the big deal.

If i ever wreck the nose of my '88, it's getting an 85-86 GT front nose on it.

I think the 85-86 front end is the most agressive looking Mustng nose.

Yeah, I was talking to you. That looks like a nice starting point. Make sure to keep us updated as you make progress. The 85/86 front end is one of my favorites.

I started a project thread over in 2.3L tech (not sure which way I'm going engine wise). http://forums.stangnet.com/769422-93-project-pics.html . I plan on documenting and taking pictures all along the way and sharing with everyone. I know how much I enjoy seeing progress threads w/pics, so I'm going to try and return the favor. I appreciate the encouragemnt.:nice:
