Does anybody know the dimensions of the intake port of AFR 165 heads? My dad wants to port match my stock heads and Edelbrock intake to a Fel-Pro 1250 gasket (2.00 x 1.20) but I don't want my intake manifold port to be bigger than the AFR's when I get them in a few years. And I definatley don't want to touch the ports in those AFR's to make them match. Thanks.

try contacting AFR directly. If they don't have the info at the website then shoot them a email. Its better to get that info directly from the manufacturer.

Do not port to the gasket. The AFR heads have the same width and height as the 1250 gasket but the corners of the AFR heads have 3/8" radius corners and the 1250 has much smaller ones. Wait till you have the heads and make a template off the head to put on the intake for scribing.

Tom, glad you chipped in. I taped some posterboard to my intake and then cut out the ports. Then I took some elmer's and bolted it to my heads. Worked out nice, big lip at the bottom side of the port on the heads so I took that off along with some around the sides. The ports where close to the same size but in different positions. So there are no lips now but there is a dropoff on the roof and some of the sides. Should I do the same to my intake or not worry about it?

Port the intake to the heads, not vice-versa. Yes, the AFR head has a slight bias to one side of a stock centered runner. Make the template of the head, not the intake and use that on the intake.
