AFR/FTI/Edelbrock

heads - $1325 or w/ upgraded springs - $1525
FTI - $375 (i think)
Manifold - $500
Elbow - $100
MAF - $139
Injectors - $200
Hardened pushrods - $100
Roller rockers - $160
Valve covers - $130
TB - $180
Random bolts and gaskets - $200
now, some of these parts you dont need, and i may have left some stuff out like exhaust and what not. Keep in mind these arent set in stone, they can be lower and higher. but yeah, it adds up pretty fast

You can do it for cheaper then that.

I bought Trick Flow heads with upgraded springs for $1080.
The cam is $325 shipped.
You can usually find a used Performer or Trick Flow intake for <$400
An elbow can be found on E-bay for less then $100
I also bought a set of used 24lb/hr injectors for $100

Valve covers aren't necessarily needed, depends on the rocker you go with, you can also pick up a set of Fox valve covers at a junkyard, I bought mine for $20

Depending on how many miles are on your car, you may need to buy more things like lifters etc.

my car has only 70k on it I think when I do h/c/i I am going to go with a fox style tb and run 24# injectors with a 77 pro-m

other then that I am going to get mac full lenghts, a pro-chamber, and a flowmaster cat back but that could be before or after the whole swap right now I have an off road pipe and flowmasters

Really depends on what your definition of the "Whole Setup" is. For just the heads, cam, and intake...you could get those 3 itmes for about $2200. Of course, that'll get you nowhere without all the supporting items such as Roller Rockers, Throttle Body, MAF, Injectors, Timing Chain, Balancer, Bolts/Hardware, Gaskets, Gaskets, Gaskets, and depending on how modded you already are...you'll need a nice exhaust system to complement it all. Plus there's always a few hundred bucks in extras that seem to pop up.

I think you could be looking at anywhere from $2500-$4500.

how much did you get it for?
I think it was around 90 bucks. Besides the cam, that is the best thing I put on the motor (the timing chain). It fits PERFECTLY. Most timing chains are loose or when they try to give you a "tight" chain, it's way too tight. Come to find out, Rollmaster (the brand Ed sells) is so good, most NASCAR teams swear by it. For 90 bucks, I think it's excellent insurance.

I'm with Joe. The Rollmaster was just a little bit more that some of the other kits and Mr C. told me that he had heard of a few of the FMS kits exploding

As for a price to do a major upgrade, each person has his own set of conditions that will dictate the final price.

IMHO, most folks that consider a having a custom cam made for them are looking at options that become available when you look beyond, just the price.
