Which makes the best cylinder heads, performance wise. Also who makes the best intake?

Holley systemmax makes 350 to the fly...does anyone know how much the TF street heat and twisted wedge heads make?

I am thinking of going with either the holley kit, afr's and maybe the edel rpm intake, or trickflow TW and street heat intake.

What Do you recommend that will give the best preformance?

What should I pair up with what?

There isn;t much of a price difference between the heads, so price isn't an issue. Let me know what you think

TRICKFLOW

I will probably be one of few to tell ya tfs over afr but that is my opinion. I used to have an acquaintance that had a buddy who ran tfs heads and he was a pretty quick car. he had a b cam and an eddy intake 750 carb I think. Don't talk to him much cuz that acquantance turned out to be a backstabbin assclown, but thats another thread.

I am quite impressed with my tfs combo. I got track heat heads, stage 2 cam and r series intake on my 347, no dyno numbers cuz I don't have one close, but it hauls ass and feels like its capable of high 300's. My goal is 400, but I have a feeling I am going to need some good tuning.

Theres another kid on here who pulled like 305 to the wheels on a 140,xxx mile shortblock. which is roughly 350 at the flywheel. He runs the kit you can buy from summit I think. I believe its twisted wedge heads, stage 1 cam and street heat intake. which are all base tfs products.

good luck with what ya decide my 2 cents is for TRICKFLOW

There is no single best stand out design. If there was, everyone would have the same thing. TW or AFR will make the power you want, assuming the rest of your combo is matched uup with the heads. The TFS heads, intake and stage 1 cam are a proven 350 FW HP combo. THe AFRs 165s also put down the power.

Bascially, search through the older threads and see other peoples combos and their numbers.

I don't necessarily agree with that statement...about "everyone would have the same thing" because alot of people get what they can afford not what is best for their car...

But he is right...the TW's and AFR's can make some power...I got my AFR's in on Monday from Ed...all's I can say is :hail2:

IF, just saying IF, if you knew for a fact that "brand x" would always make more power then "brand a", what heads would you be buying?

Well if they were the same price then it would be dumb to buy "brand a"...but since the prices range from anywhere to $200-$1500 dollars for heads...a lot of people buy what they can afford...and not what flows better or is better for their car...

i get what your saying, but it doesnt really apply here. I know what i said isnt always true. He is comparing equal classed heads , not some D80e's to 205's. Your right, budgets are the #1 determining factor on how fast you can go....

i was a mustang shop today and seen a stock 5.0 bottom end with TFS twisted wedge heads, trickflow black intake, stage one cam push 320rwhp 333rwtq

pretty impressive

how do i know, i did the work on the car, lol.

anyway i had holley systemax heads, they were perfect for boost because of their chamber whcih lowered compression a nice point or so...

i would go with them again if the price was right, but for about the same price, id rather go AFR 185's or the twisted wedge for a hundred or so cheaper.

g-luck
