Roadblock,
Do you have two nuts on the end of your cable at the clutch fork.
If so you have an adjustable clutch cable not the stocker.
Tighten up the outer nut to adjust your clutch and test.

ya, because i change my clutch on "a regular basis"

certainly the most desirable method would be aftermarket quadrant/cable/adjuster. however, i'm giving the original poster his options. maybe he is on a tight budget, maybe he would rather spend the money elsewhere if there is a free fix available. i mean, come on, i did this when i changed my clutch, and i don't expect to do it again until i do the next clutch swap. maybe 4yrs.... i'll spend the $200 elsewhere thanks.

i'm not trying to start a flame war warmdye, i just don't understand why you would dismiss a free fix so easily. it may not be the best method but it will work, well at that.

nor am I trying to start a flame war. I guess I just have a different perspective on the matter.

no i dont i have to ball looking things attach in a fixed position on each end of the cable, niether end looks adjustable, that is y i posted up here and pulling up on the pedal didnt do anything for me, the clutch is not fully disengaging for me, on a flat surface with the pedal down the car tries to pull forward since it is in first but only ever so slightly...

Not sure if anyone said this already, but just buy a new quadrant and adjustable cable. They'll make shifting like butter and are worth the cash and install labor

Look up all the posts on this subject and decide whether which way you want to go...there seems to 3 opinions on set ups:

1)Stock cable (unadjustable), quadrant, firewall adjuster
2)Adjustable cable, quadrant, firewall adjuster
3)Adjustable cable, quadrant

All 3 will work, since in every combo there is a way to adjust the freeplay in your clutch cable. You WILL have to adjust the cable every once in a while, either through cable stretch or clutch wear.

I personally have a quadrant, stock cable and FWA. I find it easier to fiddle around with settinging from the fire wall rather on my back under the car.
