Nice cobra! I would take it to a professional body shop and get an estimate. Have it done right and not ghetto rigged.

I love the mac cat-back, I put it on when I first got the car and matched it with the mac H-pipe. 9 years later and it's still it great shape. Cant really compare it to the others since mac's have their own unique sound. They aren't too loud or abnoxious cruising but when you get on it, it sounds sweet!!! My brother has the same exhaust on his 96 Mystic cobra and it sounds just as good. It says up top you have the mac cat-back, are you waiting to put it on???? I did the smog, oil cooler, and ac delete awhile back to clean up the engine bay and it makes it so much cleaner and less clustered. I think it looks much better, changed the spark plugs last week and it only took 10 minutes!!!

Here's a pic of the engine bay with the ac,smog, and oil cooler delete.

Oh ok, if you have the stock H pipe on it's pretty quiet, not much different than stock, but with the offroad mid-pipe it's an animal. I'll get a video up here in a little bit. What branch of service are you in??? I've been in the Army for 12 years.

Did you get con leave for your surgery?? Awesome, more parts on the way!! Make sure you get a cam designed for the 94-95's or it won't idle right. At least I know the 94-95 GT's won't idle. A guy with a 95 cobra similar mods to ours, installed the Steeda #19 cam and got 20 hp and 10 ft lbs of torque at the rear wheels and it idled perfect.

yea i got 2 weeks of con leave.not bad..

this place is going to charge me 375 to install a cam.
but parts alone is going to cost me 400
cam,gasket set,tfs timing chain,and fluids.

what do you think about that?
is 375 too much?
it seems pretty good to me.

If you have alot money It's not to bad, i was thinking maybe $300 would be about right. So your saying parts and labor would be about $800?? That's a lot of money for a cam and some extra stuff!!!! I've done everything to my cobra myself and it's never seen a shop, that's how I save money. Would you be able to do it yourself?? Here is some more pics, I'm bored.

well i def dont like taking my cars to shops either.
unless i have to.
and the car is in az i was going to have my mom take it to the shop and get it done.and yea i was thinking that its kinda pricey but i dont really have any other options.
im mechanically inclined and have done a ton of stuff to cars but installing a cam has always scared me

anyone in az wanna do it for cheaper?

Or you can wait till you go back home and try doing it yourself. Maybe get a friend or someone that's done it before and you can both tackle it. Buy'em a case of beer or give him a little cash. I mean if you have a lot of money saved then bringing it to the shop isn't that big of deal. I know Anderson Motorsport makes that magnetic tool for cam swaps that holds the lifters in place, it makes cam changes easy and quicker.

yea i dont know anyone there that has any know-how.
im going to think about this for a little while.
figure exactly what cam i want
either e,f,steeda19,tfs stage1???????????
there 100 different threads that either bash or praise each one so i think i just need to man up and choose one. haha

Yeah, take your time with deciding what to do. Personally I don't think the e, or f cams would be worth the time or money, you best bet is the steeda or tfs.

I'll address the ... More Power Issue

You already got better intake and heads

If you wanna go all motor

You can upgrade the other stuff to go well with your intake & heads
and you'd be at a range of 265 to 285 rwhp

If you upgrade the heads and intake you'd be a bit higher at 300
give or take

Why not consider staying with your Cobra stuff and just go
blown

Even staying very conservative with parts and boost

You'd STILL make way more power than a h/c/i combo :Word:

Also ... You could bottle it ... IF ... You're into that kinda thing

thanks for the suggestions grady.
but...im an n/a guy all the way.

i dont need to make crazy power,i would just like a nice cruiser.
i might change the intake and heads out way down the road if i come upon some money.

and the reason i was talking about the f cam is because the guy i talked to said that he's done a ton of f cams in the sn95s and our computer likes em.

and here was my list of extras i needed for the cam install.if anything can be changed let me know.

cam-200
timing chain-80(tfs)
full engine gasket set-80(fms)
fluids-50

375 for labor.

does this sound right?

it will be a little cheaper with the tfs stage 1 cam.and i was kinda leaning towards this one.

blehhhh...sorry for the long post
