i was in an accident and the airbags deployed. the engine will not turn over at all. is this because the airbag module needs to be replaced? what would be the easiest way to get the stang running again? thanks
The air bag module has no control over the powertrain of the car. There is a good chance it is your inertia switch. It's in the trunk on the drivers side. Pull back on the side trim of the trunk and you'll see a little red button. Try pushing it down with your finger. If it goes and stays down, the car should start after that. Good luck.
I'm almost positive about that button thing stated above. Fords are smart like that in that if you get into an accident, it will cut off the fuel so you won't explode ;-) However, it can be a pain because I had a sound system put in my old SHO and it made the car think it was in an accident haha
But yea, find the button and push it...problem solved
I just reread your post and noticed that your car doesn't turn over. You have a no crank condition right??? What year is your car??? If equiped with PATS is the THEFT light flashing in the cluster when you put the key on??? Do other electrical things work ie lights, stereo ect...??? Is it possible the battery was damaged in the accident?
Check that cutoff button in the trunk again and check if the theft light is flashing. To be honest you really should bring it into a shop if the air bags deployed...
