You can tap into the HEGO signal wires at the ECU. To see both banks, you can use a toggle switch. We are talking about a NB gauge, I assume.

Good luck.

go to autometer.com, they tell u exactly where to run the wire on the mustangs. on my 95 cobra i ran it right to the signal wire coming in from the o2 sensor to the computer.

For the switch, one can use an SPDT switch.

I was thinking of installing one of these too. Is it necessary?

Nope... it's not necessary and it's almost pointless unless you just like the pretty lights. The stock narrow band sensor doesn't have enough of a range to provide any usefull information when just wired to a gauge.

Here's a little writeup I did some time ago that might help explain the "why" a little better.

Autometer AF gauge is useless... Not even all that pretty because the lights barely move.

I suppose it would tell you if an O2 or its wiring had totally taken a dump though. I seem to recall that Jamie found a dead O2 this way. We dont tend to put a meter on the O2 wiring that often otherwise.
