I stored my mustang for the winter. I should have disconnected the battery from the car but simply forgot to. The battery was dead when I went to start it the other day, so I charged it but as soon as any juice got to the battery the alarm started going off. I don't know what to do! frusterating to say the least. If anyone could help me that would be fantastic.
thanks.

I don't think 94/95's had factory alarms.

I believe that my car had a Viper alarm system installed at the dealership though. The car was my uncle's (he was the 1st owner) and it had an alarm as long as I can remember.

Anyways, first thing I would do is cut the speaker wires so it's not blaring in your face all the time while you try other options.

Is the battery in your alarm remote still good?

Other than that I dunno.

It was an option. It mounts right next to the keyless entry module.

Did you reset the alarm? This is done by starting the car and turning the IGN off.

Does the alarm go non-stop or does it stop after 2-3 mins?

Did you try using your key to disarm the system? Not the keyfob, but the key in the lock?

Please describe every detail that is going on with the anti-theft system. What does the theft lamp do? IGN on/off? door open/closed?

I can disarm my alarm by unplugging the harness under the steering wheel where it's mounted. I've noticed the same mounting place on several cars. For all those wanna be Mustang owners out there, don't get any ideas! :nono:

When I bought my first 94 GT (in 95), I had the dealer install an alarm. They (the contractor) put it under the dash near the steering column.

Nagash - you might be able to reprogram that Viper so it doesn't automatically arm. Maybe a DIP switch? Do you have your manual? Maybe you could hunt down info at http://www.directed.com/ That auto arming is called Passive arming. Insurance companys usually will give a (small) discount for passive arming. I think they are less inclined to give a discount for an alarm without passive arming, although they might. I'm sure it depends on the company.

On that first GT I had, I had them set it up for passive arming. There was also a 'valet' switch that would turn on and off the passive arming feature.

OK, heres the deal. My car was sitting all winter while hooked up to the battery. I recently tried to start it but the battery was dead, so I charged the battery and as soon as the car was attached to the battery the factory alarm would go off. This alarm is not the horn, it is an actual car alarm, and from what I can tell the alarm must have disabled the car from starting because when I put the key in the ignition and turn it nothing happens....not a single thing. So I then posted on the board asking for help, I noticed some people said to reset the alarm...I am not sure how to do this but i looked under the steering wheel like some people had mentioned and I noticed that there was a car alarm device down in there to set the sensitivity...I pulled the fuse to this device and then once again hooked the battery up, no alarm...but when I tried to start the car, still nothing. I am in need of help I have no idea what to do. I have tried locking and unlocking the car with the keyless entry and with the key in the door, neither of these worked. After nothing happened with the fuse being pulled I thought maybe I should put the fuse back in and see if that would reset it or something...but the alarm was set off like usual. One thing I did notice while looking under the steering wheel was an odd switch of some sort connected to two wires. I fliped the switch and nothing happened, also there was a button of some sort sticking through the plastic where your left foot rests when you arent using the clutch. These two things may not be related to my alarm problem but just giving everyone all the information I know. If anyone could help me that would be so great. I am trading the car in this week and I need to get it started so the transaction can be completed. Thanks again

I'm having this same problem on my 94 Cobra. Occured after car sat for quite some time. Brand new battery however, but same/ similar alarm setup as you. As soon as I installed the new batt., when the neg. cable went on the post, horn started blaring.
I'd assumed my alarm was dealer installed, (2nd owner) mine has the two cables (dangling near 4th pedal), and also the "sensitivity control box.
Please send me a PM and we can put our heads together. Hopefully you've resolved you're issue by now...

P.S. Can someone describe the location/ appearance of the alarm control module under the s. column?

Thanks in advance.

5PTOHCOBRA - I've had a similar thing happen when re-connecting the negative battery terminal on other Ford products with an alarm - the alarm horn will begin to sound as soon as the battery is hooked up again, but the alarm has always been able to been deactivated with the push of the disarm button on the keyfob.

I take it the horn still continues to honk after you have tried hitting the "disarm" button on your keyfob?

Have you tried using your second keyfob (if available)?

BTW - What does your keyfob look like? My '94 came with the two button keyfob with the letters "A" and "D" (assuming they stand for "arm" and "disarm") on it. I *believe* it was a dealer option/installation as well, by the previous owner.
