Well, almost ALL of my parts are here for my Engine swap. My 96GT started knocking, so i decided to just drop a 04GT motor in it (got one w/ 11k miles for $1300).
Question is, i've read some place (modular depot article) that when i go to change the Valve Springs (in prep. for my cams, as soon as they show up this week), Instead of pressurizing the Cylinder w/ compressed air, you can bring that piston for that cylinder up to TDC and remove the valve locks w/o having to worry about the valve falling out of the head.
Any opinions on this, or should i just go with the compressed air route? And no i dont want to pull the heads, as I dont have the spare $100 for a head changing kit.
Here's a shot of what all will be going in the car this weekend:
04 GT motor (anyone wanna buy a PI intake?)
Granatelli Front coilovers and KYB struts
Comp Valve Springs (still waiting on my cams to show up)
Steeda 4 bolt c/c plates
Thanks,
thomas
