Hey guys. When i bought my GT it already had an aftermarket Alpine head unit and has no bass. Anyways, i pulled the unit and saw that the guy never used a wiring harness to hook it up and simply hardwired the Alpine into the stock harness. My question is can i still buy this Scosche OEM Amplifier adapter ( http://www.crutchfield.com/S-Vvwv17DgOHG/cgi-bin/prodview.asp?i=142C4FDK5 ) and use it to integrate my amps into my speakers/aftermarket head unit or is that no longer possible since he cut the factory harness and hardwired instead of using a simple harness? Thanks

OK I'm gonna ask why not just get an aftermarket amp or 4? be a little easier and if you sell the stock stuff and shop around prolly the same price.
Well because i want simple, good sound and the harness is only 39.99 as opposed to a quality 4-channel amp, which will be at least 5 times as much

 but don't sound like it's so simple since you've been asking about it for almost a week. But whatever man check seems people are always ditching their Mach460 and 1000 systems for either no system ( racers) or aftermarket and hopefully you can get everything you need at a low cost. BTW Check places like on here and ebay for good deals. I picked up a nice RF amp for 60 bucks shipped. Hope it works out for you.

Thanks man, yea i hope it works out too. If not, i'm not gonna half-ass it and plan on going with a 4-channel Kicker Amp and Infinity Reference speakers all around

Does anyone know if the Mach 460 is the exact same in the conv. as in the coupe in an 04? Will I need a adapter harness also if I just change the head unit?:)
Yea you would need the amp. adapter harness if you plan on reusing your stock amps with the new head unit

Thanks, I was afraid of that. I usually just put 4 Alpines in with my 60 watt head unit in all my conv. but I've never order a Mach 460. I think I'll just go with the $40 way instead of $200+ alot of work , it will probably sound the same anyway.:nice:

Its also not that simple.. Starting in 01 mach 460 systems changed... One amp powers the highs, while the other powers the lows...you must use your dedicated sub preout off the deck(preferably set at 80 hz) and cut up a set of old rca's to wire into your new harness.
