Just wondering if there is any real reason to get an aluminum driveshaft on a car as mostly stock as mine? I got mod fever and was thinking about getting one.
Real benefit is
1.) less weight on a rotating piece for better slightly better xfer of power
2.) stronger component for higher RPM launches
It's probably my next mod
I have 3.73's and a stock drive shaft. I drive 100 miles one way to work, 5 days a week. After 40k miles of having the 3.73's and stock drive shaft I have blown my 5th gear out. I may need to invest in the AL DS.

$299?! I thought they were cheaper than that.no vibration with gear swap is #1
rotating mass etc... is #2
worth the 299 to me.
1000 miles a week? 52,000 miles a year..... I hope it pays well.![]()

More than any job in my town, plus benefitsDid I mention I only work 4 days a week and only work 7 of my 10 hour shift... I use the term "work" very loosely. It's more like watch TV and play on :SNSign: I only drive about 800 miles a week. Since I'm driving my V6 (which is going to be my commuter car anyway) it won't be so bad. I've racked up a lot of mileage on the stang though since working there. I went from 38,000 to 73,000 since September.
I've seen frpp aluminum driveshaft selling for $220...maybe on mustang tuning.
Probably be my next mod also since Im got to replace my trans extension housing seal, im going to have exhaust off for lt's and midpipe, and I have 3.73s.
and it cuts a few pounds off the car to boot
