How far off is the color difference between the American Muscle Anthrocite 17x10.5 in bullitt wheels with the stock ford 8 in Anthrocite Bullitt wheels on an 04 gt...

my car has very serious issues hooking up and i want some more meat in the back. i dont road race... ever... so i just want to increase the contact area where it counts. I will get them color matched at some point if they dont match up, but i also dont want to look like a tard rolling down the street every where i go, with mismatched rims. money is a lil bit of an issue so dont beat me up too bad guys. thanks.

The color is very similar and you would have to be looking for it to notice a difference. It will make your old wheels look slightly dull though because the metal lip on the AM rims are much brighter and have a nicer finish than the stocker's. That being said, your car will look great and the wheels do match about as well as they could. I would say go for it.

As far as traction goes the most important component is the type of tread compound you get. The width of the tire makes a small difference due to distribution of thermal energy blah blah but much much more important is the stickiness of the compound on the tires you get. In other words, don't get some 315 width sumutomo tires and expect a world of difference. Spend some money on some good street tires or start looking into the drag radial world. :flag:

315/35/17 Sumitomos hook like greased bacon. Do not buy them if you're looking for a wide tire to put on there. They're cheap and last forever, but at the expense of straight line traction.

It's the early Bullitt wheels that are very noticeably lighter colored than the later ones. 03 or 04 is damn near a perfect match for aftermarket Anthracite wheels.

How much do you drive? Nitto drag radials are about as street friendly of a sticky tire as it gets, but the tread life is less than that of a regular tire. They generally last 9k-15k depending on how you drive.

Pull the trigger on the DD with Nitto's when you can afford it. It will hook great. The color match is very good. They are a little shinier but its not too bad. I love mine.
