Am I the only one with a Pony stitched on the front seats? Ford seems to think so....

The Dealer is smarter than you give him credit for. He will have a local uphostery shop make a new leather/vinyl cover for $300, then charge back Ford $600 for a complete new replacement seat. I used to work at a Dealer . . . it was standard practice.

If you can get them to replace both covers, it is not a bad deal. The quality of the new leather will be much better than what Ford uses (though no ponies).

Yeah, with that and the "never known of leather in a GT coupe" remark, I would get my car out of that place ASAP. :notnice:

Mine have the pony on them. Embroidered pony = :nice:

Seriously. I don't have a fat ass at all. But I'm a tall guy. I weigh 270 LBS.. I am very careful when I get in and out of the GT. I never wiggle my ass on the seat coushion or wear anything which can scratch or puncture the seat coushion. I am VERY careful. I also own a 2002 V6 Mustang and it has 18,8xx miles on it and the driver's seat does NOT have this problem like my 2001 GT does. Why is it that the leather driver's seat coushion in my 2002 V6 Mustang with 18,8xx miles on it doesn't have these vien marks and why is it that my 2001 GT with only 1,279 have them? Do the GT leather seats have thinner leather than the V6 leather seats? WHAT CAUSED my GT driver's seat to have the vein marks on the driver's seat coushion if I only drove the GT for only 10-12 times and only put 1,279 miles on the car???? The vein marks are VERY noticeable. IS THIS NORMAL when you don't sit in the GT and use the car a lot??

The reason you start to get those vein marks is because the leather starts to dry out. Those small little crease marks that form when you sit on them become very noticable because of the drying of the leather. What i recommend is buying some Meguiar's leather conditioner and putting it on there every couple months. That should help out some. Otherwise, that's just leather seats for you. They look good new, but they start to look "wrinkled" after a while. It's just normal wear and tear. :nice:

04 GT has ponies.

Comp Orange, huh? Got any pics?

I think with the right rims and maybe a couple of different body part (hood, maybe?) those new oranges could look pretty wild. :nice: Oh yeah, and a drop, that goes without saying. :nice:

I have ponies as well...dont they have other Mustangs in the lot that you could walk over and show them how much of a dumb*ss he is??? If I were you, just run away from there, obviously their intentions arent in your best interest.

Mine 2001 doesnt have ponies....:) (see sig) But my friends 2003 GT does. That dealership must be clueless. and how the F**** can they think that your car is the firstGT with leather...it seems most GT's have leather...

Here's an idea. After talking to them, walk to the showroom and pick up a mustang brochure. It probabaly has a picture of a mustang interior showing the ponies on the seat. Bring it back to the shop, ask for the service manager and show it to him. This of course assumes they can read. :nonono:

My 02 has the emboidered ponies. FYI, I had my drivers side lower cushion and cover replaced at about 12k miles due to the foam breaking down and a piece of metal wearing a hole through the leather. The new lower cover is much better leather than what was used originally, so now I still have a mint lower cushion at 26k miles, but the drivers seat back is worn and looks like crap. Try to get them to replace both the top and bottom covers.

you're pushing it :rlaugh:

its 3:45 and still no word from them. as far as changing both, ill be lucky if their stingy asses give me even the one i do need. and i did walk around to see what the newer cars looked like, but all had cloth interiors. and they dont ever have mustang catalogs, i usually have to get them from the website or another dealer if im close by. and yes, the coupe no leather thing actually did happen, they are dumb. cant believe any of the 20 + people knew this. i feel better now, that you guys have ponies too.

jadesville: even the service manager was in on it, they all looked at my car as if it were a phenomenon :nonono:

ALSO, can you believe they also didnt know Mustangs came with a power driver side seats? yes, you read this correcly. freaking idiots.

as for the drive power side seats, i think pretty much everyone knows that, because ALL mustangs have them, they need power passenger side seats though :notnice:
