Analyze my 03 Cobra's 8th mile time and mph

I ran a heatsoaked and best time of 8.55 @86 mph with a 2.1 60ft time I couldn't keep from bogging for some reason :( . When I would let the clutch out I lost all rpm and I would bog...I figure I let the clutch out too fast even though I had the rpms up to about 2500 rpm.

Is my mph ok or does something seem amiss other than my poor driving? I'm in humid north Alabama but that night didn't seem too bad as far as weather conditions.

the mph looks ok considering things such as a hot car, humidity and what not. the modular cars will bog because we are not like a pushrod car with more low end torque. if you really want to get a better launch the rpms need to be raised slightly and the clutch slipped. my 01 bogs down when i hook at the track and i launch 3000-3500 on dr's. but i cant compare my n/a motor to yours. maybe a 03/04 driver will comment but i say you did ok. would be nice to see a full 1/4 mile time on your car. that would be easier to see if the performance is there or not.

that is not bad for a stock or a CAI+Cat Back terminator. If you get your 60ft under 2.0, you will see around 90 mph which is where you should be. If you are running stock F1's, the trick for best times is a feathered launch, where you bog almost immediately, get the tires hooked and spring out from there. Any wheel spin at all on F1's will kill your 60ft, DR's and sticky MT's are a completely different strategy, where spin off the line can get you your fastest 60ft. What kind of tires were you on?

Well it's pretty much stock with a k&n air filter in the stock box plus silencer and the welded on flowmasters. The tires are some kind of off brand called Fuzion ZRi that the dealer put on it in which the rears may soon be replaced with a drag radial for weekend warrior duties.

drag radials will definitely help your 60' times. But if you get any wheel hop let off gas. immediately. I upgraded my car to an 04 rear end, and snapped the 04 halfshafts on my first launch. Thats with 290 series nitto drag radials and 3.73 gears. On street tires with the 99 irs my best 60' time was 1.897 which made 1/8 mile 8.305 @ 88.74/ 1/4 mile 12.714 @ 112.00 mph

Hoping for low 12s/ high 11s when my stage 2 halfshafts finally show up
That seems like a lot of time to drop. With the level 2's you can get a more agressive launch and if you are on some MT's it may be possible. ( high 11's that is ) Good luck, keep us posted. :nice: By the way, nice ride you have there, bet you surprise a lot of people.
