I have a 331 with a comp cam xe274 hr that broke in half. So now that i'm going to put my 331 in a new block or due a 347, i'm looking at cams. Any one using the N-71 cam with 3.73s, andersons web says i need at least 4.10s. My car has a tko 500 trans. What due you think about this cam?

I'm only saying that because I have a N-91 cam and I wish I had gone with a custom one. Trying to save you some money in the long run man. Out of the two I'd suggest Jay Allen. :nice: Don't tell him I sent you though, he will charge you more!

thanks, i'm going to be calling fordstroker.com in a week or so after i decide if I am going to order there bare block and put my 331stuff in it or getting there 347 short block. I see that fordstokers deals with jay allen. I also need to stop being lazy and take my block out and make sure my pistons and rods, crank, are not hurt.

I'm suprised your block is holding up to that nitrous! Your nitrous track times are lacking alot though if your make the numbers in your sig. Whats up with that?

I really don't know whats up with that! The car runs what it runs.
Could it be the old borrowed slicks I used, it did spin in first gear.
Could it be the 3780 lbs with out me in it? Or that the car is really set up for carving corners with the saleen springs, swaybars and shocks.
Could be my driving.

I was building a 12 sec car and it went 11s. Thats all i need.
heres the vid of that run.

I know, my car is a pig.Went to a local truck stop pulled on the scales, 3780 lbs. I'll weigh it again when it's up and running.

As far as the mph,I think the tq is getting me out the hole[ 1.54 60 foot] but it's falling off on the big end. I don't know.

you couldn't pay me to run one of those hi-rev cams on the street. "good driveability down to 2200 rpm" get stuck in traffic one time and then tell me your happy with it. don't get me wrong, i'm a big AFM fan but those cams are not street cams IMO.

I have a N-91 and I can tell you at anything below 2,300rpms she bucks. It is driveable but alot of people would get tired of it.
