Another Edelbrock Carb Stumble Question

On the passenger side you have what looks to be a heater hose wedged under the linkage - could be a problem (mechanically and temperature wise). Also, it looks like your vacuum tee on the rear driver's side of the intake is open at the top (it's hard to tell for sure from the picture).

what kind of manifold vacuum are you pulling? The missing followed by the smell of fuel tips me off that it's electrical in nature. The fuel seems to be getting where it needs to be, but it's not burning.

I'm wathing this thread like a hawk. My 351W is doing about the same thing and I can't figure it out.....IT SUCKS AND IS EMBARASSING!!

all the vacuum lines are sealed. that heater hose has always been there....guess it could be a problem, but not with the missing and no power i wouldnt think. the vacuum tee is all capped off with zip-ties sinched around em...after those blowing off like 2 times I figured out how to keep em on

yes it is embarassing.....i have a nice electrical system, though the other day this did really start after i washed it, and being as i have a shelby hood scoop some water does get on the motor.....could this have shorted out something? i would think if it did then it wouldnt run at all, but maybe it just slightly shorted it out??? and yes it is SO embarassing, i couldnt race a golf cart light-to-light right now

Blowing off??? Sounds like you are detonating in the intake. Does the carb barf at you occassionally when starting? Those vacuum caps should be getting SUCKED on there unless you've got a supercharger we can't see.

possibly. if you have a spare spark plug which you know is good, grab it and gap. then start the motor and pull of cylinder 1's plug wire, connect it to your spare, and carefully (if not, you'll get a little present ) ground it to the motor and check the spark. do this for each cylinder one at a time and tell me what you see. try to get it to stumble on each cylinder as you test it.

is there anyway to use a voltage meter to test the same thing? i just put all new spark plugs in

not really, i think it was turned off 20 times before this happened once....ronstang was with me and said it was normal

well, you probably could use a volt meter to test this, but i have no clue what you should read there. i just wanna know what color spark you are seeing, plus to see if one cylinder or more is missing every now and then.

i gotta buddy gonna rebuild the carb for me at the end of this week for like $25, if that doesnt fix it i will try this....
