Lots of good advise here. My opinion is to build a good foundation for your future mods. Such as installing upper/lower control arms for the rear axle before adding the gears. Make it safe and functional FIRST. In other words, fix all the little crap first so that it works like it's supposed to.
I'd start with:
Subframe connectors
control arms
gears
exhaust
more chassis
Oh, don't forget decals. They add lots of power. About 10hp each.
