No one really gives a straight answer on here I looked through all the old archives and found no real good answer.

I have an 88 Notch and am doing a ground up build.I do not want to minitub at all.guy wants 600.00 to do the tub that's what i got charged for thru floor subs ,10pt cage, upper/lower torque boxed (welded/bolted)(battle boxs) total bottom car seam welded, and with spare tire area cut out for cell. not ready to dump 600 on a tub.I still need to buy a coilover/ainiroll kit from autoweld for 800.00. So back to my original question what is the largest RIM/Drag slick combo I can fit under stock wells what is the back spacing on rim as well.need answer quick before he plants the rear cage bars.
PICTURES?

thanks kevin

To be on the safe side I would say a 8" rim with 5.5bs and 275/60, or 9" 6.5bs! I have 8" 5.5bs, and just ordered the 275/60 MT drag radial, good luck.
Not my cars but heres the 8" rim with 5.5"bs and 275/60/16
Not sure of backspace on this one!

No problem, Im sure about the 8" 5.5 bs it will work, the 9" I believe will work with 5.5bs or 6.5bs. Go to Corral.net then to the wheel and tire forums and do a search there are plenty of posts to help u out! No matter what u will have to beat the inner fender with a hammer, and roll the lip! There are people that run bigger wider wheels and tire combos but stick out past the fender well, but this is my input to be on the safe side and still good!

This guy has the 8" with 276/60! His car is slammed in the back which gives it the tubbed look, thats the look im going for! He has megabite jr. control arms and one coil cut in the rear , he sais it doesn rub!

I would hate to have to this tub...

I just heard you could make a 28x11.5 Tire 15x8 wheel 5.5 BS and still has his tail pipes haha don't even look tubed??? Word is all over the place.

Thats what I had on my car, I had 1/4" spacers and they still rubbed with big bumps, thats why im goin with the 275/60, their a little narrower!
Heres some pics of mine with the 28x11.5 slicks:

They rubbed on both the outside and inside only on big bumps or hard launches! Im running stock suspension right now with a better suspension setup they probalbly wouldnt rub as bad. If its a track only car they should work fine. Yeah Ill post pics when I get the tires on, car is torn down right now though because im doing the body work and hoping to paint by spring!

If your car was a little higher up in the air would it of still rubbed?
275 is how many inches wide? 10.5"?

It will be most track car,but will see the occasional forest preserve cruses in the summer, but not at all daily driver.Trying to get as much meat under the wells without tubing I really don't want to do it even tho 600.00 is cheap to you guys.I just would like to get my car back from welder hah.I miss my baby....

Lol, yeah it sucks waiting to get ur car. yeah that slick is between 10.5 to 11" wide, on that 8" rim it bulged pretty good. It probably would still rub even if the car was raised, you can get adjustable shocks though for ride height and softness! I would really consider getting the 275/60 drag radial though if i were u because its street legal but it hooks like a mother and will handle a little better than the slick on the road!

Yeah i would use autoweld, it seems like alot of guys are using them! Like I said before the 275/60 is what I would use and is plenty big enough to hook up, especially in a stock wheel well!

275 is how many mm it is wide? correct?

what size is that in a drag slick?

Do you have any suggestion for a good anti-roll bar by itself?
Do you run a rear sway bar,and a anti roll bar on a drag car?what is the difference?
are they both the same thing just different name/install location? pros an cons?

sorry im all over the place right now on how to set this car up...
Thanks alot everyone (306 notch)
