Hi guys. I've read a lot of you talking on here about 20+ mpg in a GT. Am I just unlucky, or is there something wrong with my car? I get 14-15 city and 17 or 18 highway. The only thing that's not stock is the K&N. Granted, my city driving is in downtown Indianapolis, but the traffic isn't really that bad on most days. Seems to be running well. Where are you guys getting 20+ mpg from?

you have an automatic correct?

i average 22 with at least 50% city driving...sitting in traffic has an effect on mine, depending on how long i sit

i get 26+ straight freeway...i have a 5-speed with a few mods...see sig

I made a business trip the past few days and averaged 26mpg with probably 90% highway driving. With my mods below. I actually gained a few mpg when I hooked up the predator. But premium fuel sucks. However here it went down to about 1.72 for low and 1.88-1.92 for premium.

Figuring gas mileage ain't exactly rocket science.

I would say I average normal driving 22mpg mixed highway and city with occasional spirited driving. I almost never run over 70mph unless in Michigan then it goes to 75mph. Always use cruise on the highway or when I will be driving the same speed for a while.

Here in Missouri, the speed limit on I70 is 70 mph.(which = 80mph) and I get 25-28 mpg running back and forth from Columbia to St. Louis, If I stay in town, I get a little over 200 miles/ tank, I usually keep my foot in it while in town.

you guys dont know how to figure gas mileage! Or you all drive like grandma's!

hmmm...fill up,reset odometer, drive, fill back up, divide miles driven by gallons of gas taken to fill back up.I do not drive like a grandma, and I get around 24 on the hwy with several triple digit passes, and that's with 4.10s.

A friend of mine had a late model Ford Explorer V8 that was making 8-9 mpg no matter how pussified his driving was. The Ford dealership could not fix it. They even reset and replaced the engine computer. Eventually, he traded it in for a V6 Mustang.

I guess some cars are just like that. Take it up with your Service Advisor. If you're not happy, take it to a different Ford dealer and try there. Not all Service Advisors are the same.

i drive pretty sane 90% of the time...i have gotten 260+ out of a full tank and also got 190 miles out of a tank, when i first got it!! :D

weather, road slopes, and the way you drive/shift has alot to do with it...

over the years, from what i've read/seen, it seems that 18-22 is normal for these 5-speed cars with mixed city/highway
