IM looking at the 1" variety of either the Eibach or H&R on this page:
http://www.stangsuspension.com/store/comersus_listCategoriesAndProducts.asp?idCategory=58

According to Josh (owner of this company), you may or may NOT need to cut the studs, depending on type of wheel. I want the pre-studded spacers, but I think 1" is more than enough, so I dont want to get larger to avoid cutting studs.

First question is should the Eib or H/R in that link fit, regardless of the rim?

Would there be any clearance issues?

How would I know if the stud needs cutting?

Thanks
RC

My HR 1" needed about a 1/16th cut off the ends...I was running FRPP 98 Cobras at the time....they had a recess that wasnt quite deep enough...hence cutting a 1/16th off...
You really cant tell until you place your wheels on I guess...your either gonna make it or not..the wheels will rock, telling you its hitting...

This is the backside of my 98 Cobra's....see how there's a recess inbetween the stud holes...this helps...if your's are flat in between??? that could be a problem??

The Red studs are factory.....so you can see they stick out some from the spacer...

I didnt know you ran those Andy... Those are the EXACT ones IM looking at...HR 1".

I really didnt feel like cutting 10 studs. What is the best way to cut them (if you must) without ruining the tread starting area?

Great pics...you got any with the rims on the car?

im sure you could use a dremel w/cutoff wheels

if you put the lugnuts on the studs before you cut em when you take em off itll clean any of the burrs you might get

You got it....take a cut-off to em...makes short work...when you wind the lugnut off, the threads get re-chased...swwweet

At the moment I run spacers on my 18s....I got a package deal and only got 285s in the rear with my wheels...so I threw on some HR 1/4"

Right chere...front/rear are purdy damn even..

It seems like you will go through several discs and quite a few minutes for each stud using a Dremel. I have a compressor with a cut off wheel.. I could use that, but it cuts a bigger chunk off.

RC....I'd whip a wheel off it for a look/see....Possibly save your self some grief...
Murhpy's law states, you'll buy the spacers and have no recesses... :damnit: Or call Joe...he's a dealer correct?? he might be able to answer???

Joe's Cousin is the actual dealer...Joe is the contact FOR him.

Well, If I decide on them, and when I get the money, I will get them whether or not I have to cut the studs...I just didnt want to do it.

NOW, how do I tell BEFORE buying them if I have to cut the stud by looking at the wheel...That is, what will I see (not see) in the wheel that tells me yeah, or nay?

RC

(heading out for the night..ciao)

Go back up to my pic of the back of the wheels....see those recesses inbetween the stud holes...if you dont have em, your semi-screwed, get out the air tools... ...you gotta cut 3/8 of an inch or so off the stock studs....if'n you have recesses like mine did...you'll either clear or do a minimal grind job...

Here's the HR spacers...the 5 lugnuts you see are to hold the spacer to the STOCK studs, they come with em...there little mini's.....mount and TQ the spacer using these....mount your wheels to the spacer using your regular lugs nuts and TQ them...done.

Thanks Andy, I just gotta get up off my a$$ and take one of the tires off to look at the wheel. I wish I had an internet pic of the Rebels from the "backside"

ANYONE else use these spacers?
