Raced the Sponge Bob Car Tonight!
Most of you remember my daughter's Barbie car got 2nd in Design and 3rd in Speed.

Well Sponge Bob Raced tonight...RESULTS:

2nd in SPEED!
2nd in DESIGN!

Just like last week, my daughter raced for first place agains one other car and lost, then had to go back in the mix, but this time won the race for 2nd.

In the final heat, her car started out and was in the lead 1/4 way down the track..THEN, it slid over and hit the middle guard, and jump a bit. That's when the other car passed it.

In all the other heats, Sponge Bob was a clear-cut winner from the second the cars started out. Now my daughter gets to go to states!!

So between this week and last week I won, (uhh uhh, I mean my daughters won :D  ) 3-2nd place trophies and 1-3rd place trophy.

In case youre wondering how this is tech, the answer is that the car slid over and lost the first-place race becaust the wheels were not fully aligned. A good alignment is very important both in REAL racing, and Pinewood Derby Racing...

Enjoy the 2 pics! (they kept the car since it will be going to state finals)

Yes, I know my daughter is TOO cute, but yes, she is mine, BIOLOGICALLY :rlaugh:

I was actually hoping the Sponge and Barbie could do a little something something on the side to determine who is "The Champ." And to help with the wheel problem, if you drive straight, it will not hit the wall. You did a good job RC, I meant to type your kids did a good job.

You're a better man than me. I probably would have had the car over at the shop, with a team of six guys working on it, maybe would have flown in a NASA engineer or two and claimed a foul because our car hit the rail and noone else did. I'm sure I'd work my self into a minor stroke....

BTW.........GOOD JOB!!! :nice: :nice: :nice:

Yeah, I must have spent a total of about 6-7 hours labor total for the 2 cars.

That would have been nice...BUT..the weights fell off of SPonge Bob after my daughter was waving it around at the awards ceremony. I think Barbie was a tad bit faster myself :notnice:

If you old-time Football fans rembember a Dolphin player #28, Don Mcneal.

who played in the super bowl against the Redskins in 1983..
He is a kids pastor at our church..He trashed talked me for 3 weeks when I told him my cars were Barbie and Sponge BoB. He said his car was "so good" that he didnt know whether it would win in Design or Speed.

He had a professionally made car for him, with Miami Dolphin colors, painted really nice with his #28 on it.

The AWANA leaders raced their cars, and his car was still half-way back when the winner crossed the finish line. :rlaugh:

Meanwhile, out of 70+ cars, Barbie and Sponge Bob got 3-seconds and a third.
His car was DEFINITELY :owned:

Thanks guys..I had fun and my daughters were thrilled.
