Antifreeze smell while driving along w/smoke out of AC vents?

Hello all,

I'm have been getting a very strong smell of antifreeze the last few days while driving. Today, i had a low coolant light come on and i started to see smoke come out of the A/C vents. Additionally, when i stepped out of my car this morning i noticed that the carpet is wet under the acceleration and brake pedal.

What is causing this?

How can i fix it?

Sounds like your Heater Core is going out! I replaced one in my fox and it was a pain. You can bypass your heater core until you can repair it. Don't try stop leak.

that happened in my 98 one time after I just bought it and then it stopped.... fluke.

Last time it happened to me was in my gf's vw fox! What #$@%# car! Anywho, I just bypassed it, but then again it was summer! Brrrrrrrr!
