any body have problem with cam support

i just got an 01 gt about a week later i noticed a slight tick. thought it was bottom end took it apart and its just been rebuilt. took crank and got it checked its within spec. checked rist pins and they are tight too, checked cam supports they are slightly scored the top half looks worse than the bottom . my question is any body have this problem and what can be done besides replace the heads?

Post up some pics, its pretty common on these heads. The heads are heat treated differently than the cap tops so they will show wear differently.

I've had the same EXACT problem. On an 01 even.





Those were taken with an old crappy cell phone camera.

It ended up scoring up the cam there pretty bad as well. It only happened to one head, as well. At least two towers were trashed. Depending on whether or not both of your heads got messed up or not, I may have a good cylinder head for you.

if there isnt much scoring on the head side would it be possible to polish it out and the cam then get new caps? the scoring on the head side u cant even catch with your finger nail. gona try and take some pics in the next day or so.
