Been a month since i sold my 07 gsxr and i been lookin around just browsing bikes. Came across a few that got my attention. Even tho their not my brand of choice but their all carbed. I've never been on a carbed bike. Just dirtbikes really.

Any reason to stay away?

Hows the throttle response? My 07 alls i had to do was let off on high rpm and romp it and the nose would come up. Just mainly worried if im gonna be bored cuz i got a slow bike that cant pop up for the life of me.

There is a noticeable difference in carbed bikes and fuel injected. Just like cars. Better fuel curves and better throttle response. Why do you think the the price jumps way up on bikes after around 03'? Who wants to try to mess with 4 carbs anyways? No contest.

Dirtbikes are the same way, I had an 04 rmz 250 and got a chance to ride an 10' rmz 250, no wonder the price is sky high, fuel injection is soooo much better.

Thats the hardest problem in having. Going from fi to carbed i'd notice a lot of downfalls and in the end be unhappy. How much can you get a fi bike for here in cali ne way? Nj nice bikes start around 4 k

Meh, you wont notice a difference, i rode an F4 cbr and my buddies F4i seemed the same. Remember the carbs are pumpers, so that means you wont have chitty throttle response with a carb, also wont have the extra weight.

Yeah im using my buddys F4i right now but he is firm on 3500 for the bike. Thats a little much. Its got low mileage (11,000)but its been dropped. Not too bad but still. After riding it i just dont like the feel of it too much. And on top of that it just felt slow................ And sounded like someone farting in a pringles can..

But then again im not really a honda guy. More of a yamaha and suzuki fan.

I agree, my f4 over my buddies f4i would walk it every time.

Suzuki's only for me. Honda is always the slowest wether its street bikes, dirt bikes, atv's, cars, etc.

I'm not going to really knock fuel injection but there is nothing wrong with carbed bikes. I also have owned nothing but carbed and like them way more than injected bikes. I have an '01 Suzuki Bandit 1200 jetted and tuned and it will lift the tire if you get on it and it pulls hard. when I go riding with some of my buddies and thier injected bikes I have no problem with them.I wouldn't fear a carbed bike and they aren't hard to work on. Carb FTW.

I just called the local stealership for some info on a zx9 i was going to look at. Had a bent shift fork and wanted some quotes on parts. I'd be looking at 300 in parts 700 labor if i dont do it myself.

BUT, he did tell me he has a 95 zx9 thats primerd that he's letting go for 800. All fairings are their and in good condition. Needs carb work, so im going to check that out today at 2. I think that price is fair but we'll just have to wait and see after a visual of the bike.

Well i looked at that bike. They want 800 for it. Its in decent shape its a 96 zx900. Only thing is the battery is dead. And its been sitting for 2 years. The owner said it needs to have the carbs pulled and be cleaned. Im iffy because i havnt heard it run or anything. The owners a real stiff and doesnt want to put any time in it he owns the shop.

I roll on an '82 Suzuki Gs1100 4000+ miles a year and the carbs are just fine, even down to 32 degree mornings.
