I just finished installing a P1SC w/ intercooler on my 5.0, its in a tbird turbo coupe. The motor is a gt-40 crate with gt-40X heads and intake, PRO-M mass air, 42 lb inj, AFPR, complete MSD ignition, 70 MM t/b. I did not install the FMU due to hopefully getting my appointment for dyno tune next week, but I have a few questions:

1. Once I started the vehicle it was idleing up and down pretty aggressively (700-1400RPM). is this because of the large injectors and no FMU? Will this get fixed with the tune and idle nicely?
2. What should I do in advance to prepare for the dyno tune as far as:
Fuel Pressure
timing
Plugs- I have autolitew 764's in now(required for gt-40X heads). I could not find a colder plug. Also gapped them at stock .054 due to my MSD ignition
TPS- I have set to .996V

Anything else? the car seems to rev pretty nicely though so far... i just dont want to drive till the dyno tune.

Thanks
Steve

First I am assuming 9-11psi

You will not need the FMU with that combo, just make sure you have a decent fuel supply, 255lph and a inline pump (ATI or T-REX)

You should go down 1 range colder plug, may need to cross reference to find out which one is colder, gap it down or you will blow out the spark, even with the MSD. Start at .040-.035

The computer will need to relearn to idle and drive again with the blower, it will take a few driving cycles for the ECU to learn it all. If you have a chip burnt or use a programmable tuner all the little quirks can be tuned out.

I assume the Pro-M is a blow through made for a intercooled supercharger set-up? Make sure all the hose connections are very tight...

Good Luck, I like ATI's you'll be very happy with the power.

So rick- are you saying I should not worry too much about the idle right now... you are correct with the MAF being a blow through. So do you think its ok to drive it around a little casually to calm the idle a little before the dyno tune ?? Also what do you think I should put the timing at for now, 10 till on the dyno? Thanks a bunch...

If you don't have any way of pulling timing out per pound of boost like a MSD BTM I would start at 8 degrees, 93 octane gas and add timing back in slowly, or wait till the dyno.

What cam is in the motor? X-303? You really should be fine driving the car around, if anythign the car is rich right now, but after a few driving cycles the ECI will adjust the pulse width and cycle of the injectors to get the A/F ratio correct.

We made 465/425 to the wheels with our blown 93 Cobra (cast iron GT40's ported/polished by us, Cobra intake extrude honed, Crane 2031, stock 1.7 rockers, 83mm Pro-M, 36# inj, 255lph hi pressure pump, ATI inline NO FMU, A-trim seeing 9.8psi on a AFM PMS.)
