any one got carbed motor in 99-04??

It's not a popular swap in this forum. I'd say if anyone swapped to a sbf, they probably hang out in the 5.0 section instead of the 4.6. It is a fairly complicated swap, you'll need the K-member and plenty of other doner parts from a 94-95 mustang. It's easier for most of us just to build up a 4.6 and/or go to a power adder than switch to a small block.

Anyway, good luck with that.

im building a carbed 351w for my 00 does any one else no or have one ??? pics and info you have will help...thnkx

2003 Mach 1 (4.6l DOHC) carbed with crank trigger distributer.

Timming was only at 18-19 degrees on pump 94 octane fuel for initial breakin. The stainless gapless top rings will take some time to seal. The motor will be run thru several heat cycles.

Well... I used to have a 69 Mustang with a carbed 351W and the idle and such was not always dead on like the fuel injected motor I have now. However, it was great to be able to simply turn the distributor and turn screws on the carb to adjust it instead of all the fancy crap now with the computers and the tuners...

MSD Digital 7 Plus Programmable CD ignition, MSD HVC-II coil, Taylor ThunderVolt 50 (10.4mm) plug wire set for 96-98 DOHC universal long length. MSD 4 flying magnet crank trigger & Modified MSD crank trigger distributer. All timming is electronically controled by the digital 7. FAST dual wide ban O2 monitoring system. O2 sensor's are located at the Kooks 3" header collectors so both banks can be monitored.

I am doing this same swap in my 99 gt. I am building a 408w.

It really depends on what exactly you are wanting to keep. My car is more like 98COBRA's car. It will have no power steering, no A/C or anything like that. For mine, I bought a UPR 94-95 tubular K member kit, took all my old fuel system out, put in an Aeromotive A1000 pump and supporting fuel lines and what not. Had to get some long tubes specifically made, because I couldnt find any.

As for the Hydroboost, I went with a manual brake set up, so I got to eliminate it all together.

It's an extemly easy swap. like I said, it just depends on what all you are wanting to keep.

Pics?

None of the stuff is in it right now. The project has been put on hold for the time being. I was getting ready to start filling in the firewall and fender aprons and I had to stop the project. I'm not real sure when I will get back at it, but once I do I will post pics.

in NY cars 96 and up have to plug in to pass inspection, how would one override this?

Good question! You need to contact your States BMV to see if you can get exempt from the e-check..

In Ohio I'm exempt from the e-check, because I have collector plates. I had to get an official letter from Ford stating my Mach 1 was a limited edition Mustang before applying. I had to proove I have another vehicle as my daily driver and that I have the Mach 1 insured. I've had these plates for 5 yrs now. Also, in Ohio if you can proove at least $5000+ (proof of receipts) invested in a vehicle you feel is of value, collectors, or pleasure to yourself, you can get collector plates. As long as it's not your daily driver and you have proof of insurance.

All emissions have been removed from my Mach 1.

Sounds good!

I too, went manual steering/brakes and removed the A/C system. Went with a UPR tubular K-member/A-arms/Flamming River manual rack/Racecraft steering shaft/Strange offset manual master cylinder.
