I have all QA1 front suspension, K-member, control arms, struts, springs (200 lb/in X 14" long) caster/camber plates and bumpsteer kit, I am very happy with the quality, fit and finish and after 4 years no issues.

Positive and negative experiences with a company or their products are going to happen. You can’t please everybody and that’s just business. And if comments made are based on someone’s specific experience with a particular item in question, or they would recommend an alternative, or quite frankly are merely directing a member to do their research before buying.....I probably would have let it go. The continuous trashing of a company anytime their name is mentioned to satisfy your personal vendetta against them because you don’t like the way they choose to conduct business on the other hand is not acceptable.

If you’ve got any relevant and/or personal experience with the product in question, or technical advice regarding spring rates like the OP asked, then by all means feel free to give your input on the matter. Entering the thread for no other reason that to jump up onto a soap box and blatantly slam a company every time someone mentions their name because you’ve got a personal bone to pick with them isn’t going to happen. Especially in light of recent thread closures.

Any further derogatory or defaming remarks or attempts to steer the thread in such a direction will result in thread closure and disciplinary action if deemed necessary!

Come on Brian, it's not exactly a secret that UPR has a habit of selling less then stellar products. They're not the only manufacturer in that category. Granatelli comes to mind, also. I have no personal experience with either of them, though a good friend did get into a very heated argument with JR Granatelli once over the phone (and I was present for the conversation), and it has forever tainted my opinion of him and his company. UPR's reputation might be a step above that, so I would recommend against purchasing any products from either company. A company doesn't get a reputation like that from being bashed, they get it by earning it.

wythors is a knowledgeable guy and he frequents the site a lot, so when he sees something worthy of his opinion, he shares it. That's sort of what threads asking for recommendations are for, and UPR tends to deserve the negative stuff. Is it 100% of the time that they do? Probably not, they sell some decent billet interior parts, but I'll be damned if I put some of their suspension on my car. Hell, I wouldn't put it on yours, and I'm not the one that has to drive it!

You're trying to turn this into the copycat thread again. All that has been mentioned about UPR in previous comments in THIS thread are "I have it on my car and like it". Having seen Wythors's comments in previous locked threads, it does appear he has a personal bone to pick with UPR and it doesn't belong in this thread.

Having mentioned that you have NO experience with either company, I don't see how you have a leg to stand on here. This is the internet though and everyone has an opinion.

To the OP: Several people have commented on their setups and everyone seems happy with what they have and what they want to use it for. You'd be hard pressed to find a "poor quality" piece in the fox mustang market because it is so competitive. I'd buy what I was comfortable paying for and whoever the vendor is can point you in the right direction when it comes to springs.

I'm turning this into a copycat thread? Really? Can you point out for me where I said that brand X is better than UPR? I simply reaffirmed what was previously said, that the OP should do his research, and asked that Brian leave the information intact. If you want to turn it into a pissing match over manufacturers, knock yourself out. If you want to go down that path, don't be surprised if you turn around and find that I'm not following you though.

My experience with the products has zero bearing on my reply, but for full disclosure, I freely admitted it. Since you brought it up, what brand are you running, since you're so superior to me that you feel you're entitled to your opinion, yet I'm not? If you think you can't find poor quality, you clearly haven't been doing this very long. Or you were just lucky, but either way, your opinion is no more valuable than mine and insinuating otherwise is insulting to everyone here that has ever participated on the forum. Lose the smug personality, you're not that important.

Pissing match, no. I said everyone has an opinion, and nothing about whose is more important. I didn't say I was superior to you or anyone else. If you want to know what I run, look on page 1 of this thread or even check out my build thread. I said what I said because I felt that Wythors and your comments were unneccessary (again, my opinion).

You stated your opinion and it is obvious we disagree. I'm done here.

"Two to tango", Matt.

Drop the attitude you've had for MONTHS now--it hasn't gone unnoticed. And don't play coy or innocent. Not sure who pissed you off in life or what's changed since you elected to leave Staff, but your embittered demeanor on-site since has worn its course and has quite frankly, become sickening to witness time and again.

Got beef? Take it to private conversations and leave the childish ranting and banter out of otherwise relevant discussions.

Thanks.

Can we stay on topic im just asking for reviews and people have put their opinions and I appreciate it but one bad apple doesn't mean the whole bunch is bad so one bad experience doesn't mean the company sucks

You've created a monster MikeH!! .

To throw in my $.02, I personally think there are better alternatives out there to the UPR k-member. AJE, Team Z, PA racing all make good stuff. Also, don't buy a chromoly k-member for a street car. It is more prone to cracking from harsh bumps than alloy/mild steel is.

Curious....how should we go about interpreting this review? Would you have us read only the bad reviews chastising UPR and their products and ignore the good ones altogether? Because I’m seeing a lot of positive comments mixed in there along with the negative. Let’s keep in mind here, we’re only hearing one side of the story regarding the intricate details of this issue. We all know there are two sides to every story.

It’s clear where you stand on the subject as you seem to sing the same old song in every thread you participate in regarding the company. That being said, I’m also seeing members posting some mixed issues in there about the D&D, Griggs and Team Z stuff as well.....should we all jump on the boycott bandwagon against them too, or have they earned a pass from you simply because they aren’t UPR?

I personally haven’t got a dog in this fight either way. I’ve heard the bad, same as you.....but I’ve also heard the good. More positives, than negatives as a matter of fact. And the bad I do hear, is almost always a regurgitation/variation of the same old story in a new thread from the same few individuals? Many of which have never even owned one of their products!!! As I stated earlier, you can’t please everyone.....that’s just business. Especially when you sell parts in the volume that UPR does. Never mind the thousands of positive experience many have had with UPR and their products, it’s always the bad transactions that seem to be the ones brought to light. In the end though, UPR along with JDS did come through with the refund and make things right. Yes, it took a few weeks to iron out, but that sometimes happens. And I certainly understand the OP’s frustration. I’ve had crappy dealings with reputable companies and smooth dealings with ones that I later heard were shady. That’s just the way it goes sometimes.

I have been in the automotive business for over 30 years and one thing holds true no matter what part of the industry you are in and that is this: Do a crappy job, perform lousy service ect and that one person who was "wronged" will tell 10 other people. Do a great job, provide a great service 10 times and maybe one person, just maybe will tell someone else. Human nature is to dwell on the negative. complain about the negative ect. It always sucks when you are 'wronged" but how many times have you been given awesome service or bought an awesome product and told anyone? Especially on the internet.

Seems to me, it should be interpreted as a review containing both good AND bad, so the person who cares to take the effort to be an informed consumer can get a rounded picture, without worrying that anything's been whitewashed or locked away.

Are there any well suited to road race application besides MM or Kenny Brown? I believe most of the others are lightweight and intended for drag use, correct? I'm looking myself.

Kenny Brown hasn't been in business for a couple years now. In addition to MM, Griggs is also a preeminent and pioneering manufacturer of all things mustang suspension for road racing, K-members included, and I believe Steeda is still in the K-member business. Agent 47 (agentfortyseven.com) makes an SLA front end that's well-regarded as well.
