I have had the same problem with my holley intake , it was so bad that i had oil running down into my air filter. What I have done is to put breather valve covers on and plug my pcv hole. It has work so far.

I had that happen to me as well when the engine was first put together. I discovered it was because the TFS valve covers don't come with built in baffles and the oil was being sucked up into my cold air intake, traveling down and draining out the fenderwell where the air filter is. I found baffled grommets and that took care of that problem .

One thing that i have found to work, is to use more vac. line than actually needed on the pcv, so that the line coming off the valve itself is running straight up for 4-5 inches, and then let it turn etc. seems that the gravity helps keep the oil from being consumed quite so bad.

this idea was stated by someone else on here sometime, but i don't remwmber who.

It's not reaslly blue but more of a white smoke. I know people are going to say this is coolant related but it's not coolant. I know it's oil in the intake because I had to buy a baffled grommet for the valve cover. I was sucking up tons of ouil on through the TB before I put a baffled grommet in there. Now I think it's coming through the PCV and puddling up. It probably just puddles up enough until I relly get on it and then blows out the tail pipes.

Unburned oil is more of a white-ish smoke. Do you have oil leaking out of your crank seals and dripping onto your exhaust at all?

Nope, no leaks.

Since I started this thread I've changed oil and also my style of driving. The consumption seems to have stopped since. I even did a compression test just to make sure. The compression is good. The block has about 31000 miles on it so I didn't think it was the rings. I also don't gear down anymore. I believe this is what made the difference more so than the different oil.
The rear main seal is new.
