Hey folks,

Just had my Borla cat-back system installed and wanted to know if the car needed any additional tuning. The car seems to idle a bit faster now, but it might just be me being paranoid...any input is much appreciated!

Thanks,
Kris

I believe that if you touch the cats, or O2 sensors then you will need to tune the car. If you just mess with the axel back and replace only the mufflers, you are fine.

Well, the cats are still in place and the system just bolted right up, so does that count? If so, how do I go about getting it tuned? Forgive me if it sounds like a dumb question, I'm new to the world of having to tune the car everytime you bolt something on. Thanks for any info you can give me.

You ought to send an e-mail to the maker of the cat-backs, but I think that you actually might need to after changing that much pipe.

You could also call Diablosport or SCT and ask about their tuners, and if they have a tune for your exhaust.

If you can't find a tune or a custome tune, then find a dyno and get it professionally done. If you're going to do that however, get a few more mods done they get the dyno tune.

So call or e-mail Borla, then do the same for Diablosport and SCT. It can't hurt.

A tune is not needed with a cat back or axle back exhaust upgrade, since these mods do not increase the flow thru the engine, and thus will not lean the A/F ratio.

I had a Borla cat-back stinger system installed on my 2005 at the Carlisle All-Fords Nationals by the Borla reps themselves and they stated there is no need for a retune after installation.
