A couple of weeks ago I traded my 97 GT Vert for a 00 GT. Well the car has a Clifford alarm on it but I only have the stock remote. Would be nice to use the Clifford one since it is already installed. Also would be nice to get a background on the car. So is there anyway to find out contact info on who owned the car before? Or at least a name? The dealership can't give out their info obviously and I ask them if they can contact her to give her my info and they say they will but they never get around to it.

I know there probably isn't a way to find this info(short of finding old paperwork in the car...lol), but it doesn't hurt to ask

i typed in my vin # and googled it when i was buying it. it gave me the guys name and address and what he paid for excise taxes, as well as the other vehicles he owned, and their taxes! well, it came up on a page full of about 200 car vin #s and their excise taxes in the area, i just had to find my car on the list.

good job. My dealership gave me private info lol. The guy nearly **** his pants and right away asked how I got his info. I obviously said dmv/internet.

I would take the car to a stereo shop or look around on the net to find the right remote for the particular model of alarm. Order another one and set it to work with your device/reprogram it if all else fails.

Who ever your loan is thru has the title, the former owners signature and
where he lives should be on there somewhere on the backside. Then look
him up in the phone book. Thats if they will let you look at the title.

I have considered this, but I also wanted to get a good background on the car. So if I could get contact info on the previous owner I would probably get both. Plus, I don't like someone having a remote to open my car...

If you go to the stereo shop they can reprogram the whole thing, so only the new remotes work. Just like if you had lost the remotes or had them stolen.
