Well the story goes my friend purchased a Magnaflow X pipe with cats and we proceded to install it on his 89 GT. The Magnaflow looks awsome but in the end it turned out not to be such a great fit(they were too narrow). With me tightening I managed to catch the bolt but not get the collector lined up correctly and put a good dent it the collector which now leaks... X-pipe=1... BBK Equal length headers=0. I was wondering if there is any way to fix it. My friend already contacted BBK and they won't fix or sell him just one side... Figured it was worth a shot. If there is no reasonable way to fix it, no problem just get another set but if you have any thoughts please say so. Thanks in advance. This I guess was unconscious payback for starting a minor fire in my 5.0 engine compartment and stripping my PowerMaster alt. I guess what goes around really goes around.... Thanks

If you have access to a stud welder kit for pulling out dents in the body you can do a fairly decent job of pulling the flat spot out. I once cut the damaged section out, reshaped it and welded it back in. Lot's of work but it fixed the problem.

i would suggest heating it up and using one of those little weld-on slide hammer studs on there. that outta take care of it. it may not get the entire dent out but at least reduce the restriction. like rick said... i am sure there is a creative solution you can find. :nice:

Thanks guys. Its coming off this weekend so I will get a good look at the damage. Ill give the heat and a bit of banging a shot. I just wanted to what you guys would have done in my situation. Again thanks.
