I've always liked this style of wheel, but I don't know what it would look like on my 2001 GT. Has anybody installed this style? This particular wheel is made by Edelbrock, but it also looks like an old Halibrand style to me.
you mean knock offs? those kind of look like halibrand wheels. have not seen a stang with them. not my taste . then agian my taste is like budnik and boyds and I can't afford them so what the hell do I know.
Here two other photos of the same wheels (although not the chrome version) on an Eleanor replica. I think these wheels look great on the older cars, but I was just wondering if they would look nice on the currrent bodystyle also.
They Are Different Not For Me But I Don't Think That They Look To Bad. Original For Sure. I Can Appreciate Anyone Who Wants To Put Something Other Than Cobra R's On....i Had Mine Custom Made
Minniegreyv8, that pic is good enough for me! I think those wheels do look good on the current Mustang; they give it a slight retro look, similar to the Bullitt wheels. Thanks for the help.
I got several other pictures from another member, and I'll post a couple of them here. He went to a lot of trouble to have the rims made with a custom offset, and the manufacturer made several sets that would fit the Mustang. There is a huge thread on these over on www.mach1registry.com
Here I have tons of pics of them on my 00. They're very flashy, but the off sets are wrong. They stick out too much. I got tons of compliments, and looks when I had them on. Borrowed from my 68 for a few days. One of my Cobra rims broke a spoke, and had to go back to Cali. Honestly I was happy to get my Cobra R's back on, but the 454 polished lip looks amazing. Unfortunately these rims have been discontinued from what I understand as of last summer. I got one of the last sets. So good luck. BTW I paid $170 ea. for 17's ! They look awesome on my 68
Nice to be remembered JLstang351. That was awhile back
Those pics above are not Edelbrock 454's except the very first one of the rim alone. They are PS engineering GT-40 wheels used on Eleanor. See www.mustangdepot.com Similar, but different.
comming along well. See this thread - http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=382298&highlight=eleanor+update
wish I could post the latest pics, but my account here won't let me delete my old pics / attachments so I can post the latest ones. The paint job may have to wait till summer. I have a new built AOD (tired of the 3 speed auto), and 2,500 stall paid for, and on it's way for the 68, and I just gotta get a blower on my 00 in the next few weeks -
Thanks for all the pictures, 68 & 00. I can tell the difference between the Edelbrock 454 wheels and the Halibrand style that comes from Team III, but I like them both! It's too bad that the Edelbrocks are discontinued, but the Team III's are still available. My suspicion was confirmed: these wheels DO look good on the current bodystyle. If only I could afford to buy a set now...
