Well I have this rear disc setup sitting here and no way to mount it. Add in the fact that I'm too cheap, too broke and too stubborn to yak up the $150+ for the brackets, I'm sitting here wondering if any of y'all have made your own brackets to bolt up the Mk7/Conti/SVO rear discs? I have access to a welder, bandsaw, drill press, and pretty much anything I would need, along with way too much free time, and they look simple, but I know I'd probably design a POS without some help.
Thanks in advance

PS: The rear end is a stock 8", I know that matters.

I used the Mk7/Conti/SVO rear discs years ago on an 8" rear out of a Granada that WAS in my 66 coupe. I used the factory 8.8 brackets, cut them just about through the middle of the large 3" dia. hole, then mounted the rotors & calipers, aligned them on the axle housing and pressurized the calipers with air. this held them in place while I welded the bracket directly to the housing. The setup worked great with my Granada fronts, but tended to be a bit touchy....I could stop the car on a dime but the brake lights would hardly come on until I was at a standstill:shock: . I know the factory 8" in a 65/66 Mustang has the necked down tubes so it can't be done that way on those unless you make the bracket with a smaller hole.

Um I have a set of the brackets and most of the hardware that I'm thinking about selling instead of installing on the stang. I'm going to start gathering the parts to convert to the larger (05 GT?) rotors availible on the latter cars.

I saw a kit on here a while back and thought that might be the way to go on my big bodied ol girl.

Or is that dumb? Do I really need 13" rotors?

If you want to get rid of them, pm me please! :D
Thanks
