anybody else have a boss that hates them??? i'm an asst mgr at a local convient store in okc, i've been one over 5-1/2 years....i just got bypassed on a promoition from my suervisor because frankly she doesn't like me....she became my supervisor about the same time i got my foster kids and i was only able to work a certain shift(she didn't approve of) and i get in trouble weekly even if i'm there or not....like when i was on vacation as soon as i got back i had to answer why paperwork was messed up while i was gone.... needless to say its been 14 months later and i've been skipped 2 times on having my own store....my new manager(was only an asst mgr 2 yrs) took over my store and my last mgr and i were good friends, he told me to try and get out of my supervisors area and i would have no problem getting promoted...my problem beside the previous stated is that i have asked for a transfer 2 times already and have been told "NO"... so i'm going to try for a third time...hopefully 3 times is a charm...because she's a major "B"....so anyone else have similar story's????

It happens...I had one who was scared of me like jump over the counter as fast as possible scared ...R.I.P. though poor guy

I dont think my higher up manegers hate me...but I really dont want them to "like" me either . The guy who is in charge of my dept. is gay...and the guy he reports too is gay as well. I make sure to make a good impression and work well with them. However, I deff. dont want any mixed signals. I dont have any issues with gay people, the wife and I have a lesbian couple that are friends. I just dont want it to "stop" me from getting promoted.

KILL THEM WITH KINDNESS!!!!

Trust me, it works. They more than likely WILL catch on to what you're doing, though ..... but don't worry ..... you just have to do it longer. It FORCES a better work environment. You just won't see the results for a little while. Trust me, I just went through this. A guy that I work with (higher rank) and I were having problems working together. I personally had no problems with him .... but it just seemed to be getting harder to work with him. I didn't want any problems. I like to work with people that I can get along with and that get along with me. Someone gave me this advice. It took a few months ..... but all is well now.

Good luck man.

Since we're talking pranks .....

Dump a bottle of Visine in her coffee or whatever she's drinking. It's odorless & tasteless. She'll pee herself and won't even notice until she feels it on her legs.

Or you can use odorless/tasteless castor oil. That makes it fun!

Visine is "supposed" to give you diarhea.

Anyway I had a boss once who hated me becuase I had zero respect for the bitch. I was her best worker so she could never fire me, so I took full advantage of my job security for as long as I could and loved making her hate me. She was über pissy one day and was bitching about something to all of the employees as I walked in late. I finally had my chance to say it " . . . is she talking?" as I proceeded to blow off whatever it was she was actually discussing with the crew. I actually thought she was going to bust a wine glass and stab me with it by the look I got. Everyone else who was sitting at the table had that 'holy crap he didn't just say that' look on their faces. It was very satisfying to anger her and get away with it. It always completed my day. She finally fired me when I crossed the line by taking a sudden 10 day vacation to california and screwing her over big time. I was ok with it since I already had another job that paid more lined up.

When I worked at CompUSA, I worked with this dude who would do nothing but whine all day about everything. I liked getting him all mad by letting him know I didn't care about his problems. When he was promoted (by the gay manager becuase he was also gay), I knew I wasn't going to last long before he found a reason to fire me. I was the biggest A-hole to him for a month before he fired me for calling in sick. It had nothing to do with the fact that he was gay, but becuase he was a worthless, whiney, lazy person who went from a fellow worker who pissed me off for being useless to being my freaking boss AND . . . AND he was like 3 years younger than me (I was 22 at the time). I didn't need that crappy $6.75/hr job anyway.

I had a boss that had a serious case of short man's disease once. I worked at a plastic extrusion plant during my junior and senior year of high school. He didn't like me because the owner gave me the job on the stipulation that I could take time off and it wouldn't be a big deal, since I wasn't really "vital" to the things going on at the plant. The Supervisor did not like that, or being told to hire me.

The biggest one happened summer of 2005 when my brother's appendix ruptured and they put him in the hospital. I took off 2 days (owner said it was ok) to be down there with him. I come back and the supervisor comes down and tells me not to be missing anymore time, so I explain to him what happened just in case he didn't know to which he replys "I don't care...don't miss any more time."

That guy about got his ass kicked for that one.

My senior year in Highschool I worked at a quick lube (brand with a V as the first letter), We had a manager that used to drink everyone elses soda and juice. One day a buddy brought some blueberry koolaid and drank it...the boss did too. SO he topped it off with STRAIGHT meth from the container for window wash. and the boss drank it

After a quick laugh we told him to go the hospital...or die. We told him that we were using it as a holder since "he" had finished off someone elses drink. HE didnt drink ANYTHING in the store again.

The boss got fired 3-4mo later....something becuase we called the cops on the area manager for "spying" on us from a bank parking lot while using the dumpster...we called the cops saying "something is susp. at a bank...looks like a prowler" .
