its crazy that you ask. I have a 93 taurus GL 3.8 liter. I changed a front head gasket about a year ago. i was only 17 and that was my first major project. after i changed the front one, the rear blew about a week later, which i guess is common. i didn't change the rear because i joined the army and had to go to basic, but anyway. make sure you buy the ford gaskets, since they redesigned them to correct the problem ($160 a set, includes intake and other gaskets.) I did it in my driveway with only a haynes repair maunual. i've put about 30,000 on them so far and no problems. i had the heads rebuilt since i had them off too.
you will also need new head bolts and other ****
if you have any questions let me know. ( i know i only did the front, but anyhow...)
