anyone ever get tired of their mustang?

I don't so much think about getting rid of it but I sure think about the day when this resto project is done. It's going to kick into high gear soon and be back on the road soon ( 1st time in close too 1 1/2 years) I sure hope I don't get to the point of wanting it gone after all the money, blood, sweat & tears I have put into it. I still want to put more motor on it

i never get sick of it ive had mine 3 1/2 yrs...and each winter i have done ot replaced something with new parts. Workin on it myself also learning alot as i go...right now i got it all apart to replace the rear main seal..it leaked from day one when we installed the motor last april ....was i bad install job i believe..but it never gets old i enjoy wokrking on it and doin upgrades when i can got the 3g and electric fan to install also new clutch cable...so im looking forward to driving it when its done i should have it back up in the road in a couple months..waiting on my dcc fan controller .....plus its a weekend and nice day toy...basically it never gets drivin so i love it...its not going anyehere

That's the plan for now. it could change at any given moment. Either way, I have a buddy coming over with an engine hoist this weekend and the 302 is coming out.

hmm, i happen to have a 70 351w laying around...and you happen to be about an hour away so if you change your mind again, im sure ill still have it.
Was going to build it myself before i came across the motor i have now. Now i get to skip a few steps

Mine is a full bolt on car. heads, intake, fresh short block and oversize maf with matching tb, headers, shortthrow shifter, 5 lug swap with 10.5 fatties out back, new suspension front and rear. interior got the works too. Black interior swap, 9 way power buckets, new carpets, all new audio system, new gauges, everything.The only thing not changed about this car is the paint/body. Short of going stroker or huge boost If it can be done to the car it has. I used to fantasize about the day it would be back on the road. now that its there I am just not feeling it like I thought I would. Hoping it grows on me.

Have you ever had your car to the track? My car is slow as ****, but taking it to the track makes you fall in love with it all over again. I love driving it for a week or two afterwords with the paint marker number still on the windshield. I wear that thing like a 1st grader wears home a gold star his teacher gave him, haha. Racing it on test and tune nights just makes you so much more motivated to wrench on it.

I know the feeling. Mine was fine Sunday, today I start it up, the idle is surging, its running pig rich, dying when cold. Doing all the stuff that I fixed back in November.

Im kind of tired of mine as of late. A bunch of small stuff is killin me lately. Broken drivers door handle linkage (too cold outside to fix atm)....4th gear is bad ( rebuild time $$) I put it in a ditch last week Dukes of Hazard style and fugged my paint on lower bumper.. No other damage luckily...whew.Cmon spring, i need to fix some stuff.

Well i wasn't going to reply to this thread at first, as i rebuild mine i try and keep high hopes. Well i guess i should say I'm not sick of my car, its what everyone who has owned it has done to it before me. i rebuilt the motor, no biggie but now im starting the body work. it seems like every step i take forward i take two steps back. i went to realign the fender/bumper cover and i realize its out of alignment due to all of the bolts not being there in the bumper cover so now i have to find some of the bolts. they have used paint stripper and left it on too long so the holes had to be sanded out of the molding but this wasn't revealed until i started sanding, they also used a wire wheel on the ground effects. I dont mind working on stuff but when i dont see progress i get fed up now im done ranting and continue to sand the car today lol

almost sold mine to get a first gen lightning yesterday....almost. every so often i get to a certain point and then start looking for something "new". but i believe that i have officially talked myself into keeping the fox and to keep going on to my next goal.

yeah i wana sell my car sometimes to i bought the car last october and got it home and i drove it for 2 days and felt the front end doing crazy shakes and got it home and jacked it up had to replace both wheel bearing and inner and outter tierods so it set on jack stands for 3 days then drove it some more i think a month and the guy who owned it before me put the firewall adjuster for the clutch on wrong and it ripped the firewall so i had to build a brace for it then a couple of weeks after that water pump went out easy fix then i had trouble with the starter and got that swapped then had a gas leak to when i bought it i the gromet was bad and leaked gas when i filled it up got that replaced but its easy stuff to fix just irritating sometimes just put a new set of tires on it today going to buy new bbk shorty headers this weekend and upper and lower control arms for the rear and shocks and struts and the only thing left is paint knock on wood hahaha

I think I love working on the Mustang more than driving it. I HATE car shows. After 1/2 hr i am ready to leave. The idea of sitting around looking at cars doing nothing and going nowhere is insane. I have way more fun at the drags. Some cars there are way better than "show" cars and they actually perform. Nothing like working hard on the stang and then going out to the track and watching all of that hard work come together, and then go home and make it even better. repeat. repeat. repeat. ya gotta love it, well at least I do.

What the heck does that have to do with anything? On the flipside of that, some people hate racing or even watching racing and like to see their hard work pay off on the show field or out at cruises. Just because it's not your thing doesn't mean it hasn't got its own merit. Car shows are boring if you're alone or don't like looking at the workmanship in all sorts of different cars, sure, but if you have a group of friends that all show up it's a great leisurely way to spend time. It all depends on your scene though, here in Detroit there's so much going on and so many different things happening at the shows that you can always occupy your time.

I've had mine for ten years now. Last year, she brought in a lot of compliments, probably more in one year than I've received in the previous nine.

My mistake was I found a new hobby: motorcycling. I put 5100 miles on the bike last year and maybe 800 on the Notch. When it's sunny out, I'd rather be out on the bike...it's an experience that simply cannot be explained.

I've had three original Broncos and thought, well, maybe I could find a guy who's tired of his EB and has as much $, blood sweat and tears into his project as I have into mine and we could swap headaches.

Never said that YOU or ANYONE else sucks because you like going to car shows. I said I HATE car shows and I gave my reason why. I am me, you be you at your car shows, I ain't stopping ya. Go knock yourself out doing what you like, and I will do what I like. OP asked for opinions, I gave mine, you don't like it............tuff. I don't hate my car because I am always working on it or because it just sits around at times. Never will.
