Anyone familiar with buying impounded cars???

I am looking at this 89 gt and the owner bought it from an auction at an impound yard. She says she has all the registration and crap that you get from buying a car from the auction but what does that mean?? Will I be able to get a pink slip and a clean title?

Im not sure if the owner has the pink slip but she said she had what the impounders gave her and that the car was legally hers. Do they give her the pink slip or is she suppose to go to the DMV to get one?

A guy I know bought three cars from an impound auction and didnt have any trouble with the paperwork for two of them but the third one had a lien on the title and the lien holder wouldnt release it so he couldnt get the title.
He was going to give the car to my brother if he could get a title.
