They make a T5 rated for 400 HP for only $695. Sounds like a pretty big savings over a Tremec. Is a Tremec worth the extra dough?

Anyone have any experience with Astro Performance?

I have dealt with Tony at Astro and have nothing but good things to say about them, and have heard others say the same.
If you read the add on that tranny, it's good for 400 HP, but only for 275 Lbs of TQ. In other words, it's a stock rebuilt world class T5. Most Tranny's can handle a ton of HP, it's the TQ that kills 'em.
The "Super High Alloy" that is listed below the one you mentioned is the Z-Spec T5, rated for 330 TQ. For a mildly modified 'stang, that would be the best choice IMHO.
They also offer complete Tranny's and Gear set's along the lines of the G-force stuff, only a little better (and cheaper!) They can handle between 450-500 TQ, are built around a T5 case, so you son't need anything extra like a TKO, and are a couple of hundred $$$ cheaper.
