o/r mid pipe. or have ever been pulled over for something else and have the cop ask about it. just currious. i will prolly have to go with a catted pipe for the next 3 1/2 years. then it will be antique and i won't have to take it through inspection anymore.
thanks.jay.

like I posted in another thread regarding this similar topic....NJ has Highway emission testers and they will stop you right on site and test your emissions, if you dont want the $1000 fine (that's what my dad has told me) put high flow cats on. I am going to be doing this once I start pieceing the equipment for my HCI swap since I'm gonna add new headers.

Yes I have been pulled over because I was "accelerating fast" up to the speed limit. Basically ended up just wanting to look at my car and talk about his mustangs he used to have.

He than said "off the records, do you have cats on this thing?"
So I responded with," Yes officer, I still have to pass emissions."
He says," You know that kills your power a little"

I just shrugged and said "I know"..

He was a nice guy but he's still a cop so I wasn't gonna tell him the illegal stuff I have on the car. I plan on welding on my old cat shields from the stock H to make it "appear" I have cats on the car. Other than that never had a problem.

NJ has collector car plates, no year limit, emissions exempt just have to register it as such, 3k milage limit a year though and need collectors insurace which is cheaper then standard insurance and its agreed value not blue book. but its hard for anyone under 25 to get.. They can't legaly test yuor car if you have the triangle sticker in your windsheild showing its a collector car.... So just weld heat sheilds where they cats would be.
