BTW...DO NOT USE HEAT such as a torch!!!!

It will warp the bearings in the hub and then you'll have to spend around 60-75 each on new hubs. Generally, these don't ever go bad on 94-04 Mustangs. I've seen one go bad and when I got the rotor and hub off, I saw someone in the pas, heated it because there was a burn mark on the spindle shaft that holds the bearing. Big NO-NO!!

Thanks guys for all the tips, I finally got back to trying again yesterday but this time i had a rubber mallet. I also sprayed pb blaster on it the first time and this time i hit it about 2 times with a rubber mallet and it came off, the other side took a beating but eventually did as well. The rubber mallet was the best idea because banging with my ratchet did nothing. So all is good now. Thanks!

, banging with a ratchet. I would say it's like bringing a knife to a gunfight... but it's more like bringing a really sharp pencil to a gunfight.

Yes, hubs do go bad without abuse/heat. I had to replace the hub on my 97 around 154k miles and it has definately never had heat applied (we've done every brake job). The bearings just wore out and were getting loose.

And there must be something about contours that causes the rotors to stick worse. My friend had a contour and took a chunk of the rotor out by beating on it, very similar to the picture above.

Well if you use heat, i wouldn't fire up the acetelene torch and start baking the rotor. I was thinking a small propane torch just to heat up the hat.

Havent you guys ever used your brakes hard and gotten them smoking? I know I have during some Autocrosses.

Bigger is better.they guy who said sledge hammer.5-8lbs size,you dont need to kill it just be flat and firm hit from back.
