anyone replaced rear window panel only on their vert top?

i've got a '91 vert w/an original top. the top is generally in good shape, except the rear window seams are shot on the outside. the window hasn't fallen out, but it is essentially being held in on the interior side only. i figure it is a matter of time before this goes.

the car is not a daily driver. in fact...i will probably be doing around 2500 miles a year since i qualify for collectible insurance. i'd rather not replace the whole top for $1k since i think i can get by for now. it is not going to be driven in the rain.

i notice you can buy a rear replacement window/panel for about $70. the description claims that it is zip in/out on 3 sides and only needs stapling on the bottom edge. i am wondering if anyone has done this as a stop gap alternative to replacing the entire top? how does it look? how difficult was it to install?

thanks....woody
