I have a set of 96 spindles that I was given, should I keep them or go for a set of 94/95 spindles? I know the 96+ parts are wider and I would have to run a bumpsteer kit, but other than that is there any reason not to use them? could I run 9" wheels up front?

You should not run 96-04 Spindles unless you are using an Aftermarkert K Member. There is great Information on this subject on Maximum Motorsports Web Page under Tech Tips.

I run 04 spindle. The do widen the track of your car so keep that in mind when picking out your wheels.

On my fox I run 04 cobra spindles and lower control arms. My track is much wider than a stock fox because of this.

So because of this I run a s197 offset in the front and the fitment is great.

Well that sucks. I didn't realize the 96+ spindles would make the track wider. I have a 96 I stripped and had planned on using those parts for my 90's 5 lug swap.

I'll figure something out.

Besides the Wider Track you would also have Bump Steer Issues unless you installed an Aftermarket K Member.

Just sell the spindles or offer up a trade (not in the forums though)

A lot of guys go aftermarket K-member and want the 96+ units, while a lot of guys hanging onto them want the 94-95 units.

You should be able to find someone willing to trade evenly. I don't beleive 1 pair is worth any more than the other.

Maybe I'll just use Mark VII rotors in the front for now. I will probably hang on to the 96 spindles though because I plan on getting a tubular K/control arms/coilovers one day.

I have 96+ spindles up front, which do increase the track with 8 or so MM over the 94/95 ones, which increase it 6 or so. I have no bumpsteer problems, nor any problems running 17x8 wheels with 30mm of offset, all of this on the stock K member.

Was your car originally a 4-banger?

4-cly struts usually have that gap. The fix is to use spacers like you are. 5.0 struts and SN95 struts are basically the same except the SN95 strut has a longer body.

So if you have a 4-banger, you should get fox 5.0 struts.
