Anyone running a Boss 429 Scoop on a 67-68?

A hood is CHEAP compared to my paint!

I have an aftermarket turn signal hood.it was fairly reasonable.

I do have WICKED expensive custom dark candy apple red paint, so it is way more economical to simply butcher up my hood and get the scoop painted.

On that topic............what does everyone think......get the scoop painted body color or have it gloss black, or even flat black?????

man...totally forgot about this thread...

i'm dreading putting a boss scoop on my car. i'm not a fan of them on anything other than a boss429. but my junk pokes through, so i need something.

How much is it poking through? Have you considered a low profile air cleaner or a smaller scoop? What I didn't like about the Boss scoop on my 67 was the width and I wish it had a center ridge like the hood has. This scoop looks awesome on 69-70's though. I'd try to make a Tbird or Shelby scoop work if I were to do it over. As it is, I'm modifying a 4" cowl scoop by putting it on backwards and cutting an angle on front (high side) to match Eleanor dimensions. I'm bolting it on too. I've never seen glass bonding not crack over time. My 2 cents....

Uh wait...... What happens when you turn 50? Something I should know?
I don't want to get too graphic for the mods, lets just sy that wind blowing is not as titillating as it once was.

On the subject of scoops, my modest combo would not fit under a stock hood, but the 67 Shelby glass hood allows it to squeek by with about 0.33 inch to spare accoring to my glob of clay.

Mr.Hearne:

I see you have Canfield heads...................................

That is what my custom cam guy got me to buy....the new Canfield 195 for SBF.

How do you like your heads????

From inspection..I can tell they flow way more than my Edelbrocks.
