Just wondering if anyone is running one of these and how you like it. I know most say to go Dr. Gas or Bassani or VRS because of the real "X" cross section but i was thinking how the BBK piece sounds. Does it sound like the rest of the true x-pipes or is it a hybrid sound like the prochamber?

Any sound clips?(and yes i know about mustangexhaust.com :D )

See the problem i have with that statement is that its a difference of a couple horsepower that you would only care about if you were a DynoKing. But i guess you are saying that for the better sound, get a H and for that last couple of HP's get the X.

The true difference IS the sound between midpipes. The power gain is a wash between all the off road pipes. If all 3 are offroad(h,x,pro) then all 3 will be right there in the mix in terms of power gains.

I'd try to hear a good H and X in person, especially the brands you're interested in. There is no substitute to hearing it in person.

An X sounds a little higher, but plenty loud, whereas the H is real deep and loud. Anything Off-Road is going to be real loud. I've got cats and my X is much louder than stock and just about at the "toleration limit" for my neighbors (much louder and I think they'd be real annoyed).

I passed emissions with mine easily. The only thing I want to change is swapping in a Bassani catback. Flows sound good though and turns a lot of heads. Finally, now that I have the X, ricers don't screw around with me anymore. They look, but shy away. :)

I say look at the engine and exhaust as a whole to see how your pipe is gonna make it sound. Just like long tubes, an X pipe isn't gonna give you more horses unless your engine is making power itself. For mildly modified engines longtubes prolly won't help much, so the better back-pressure created by shorties would be better. I have a catted X pipe and can't tell honestly what change it made because i did the whole exhaust at once. Put on the E/L shorties, X pipe, and dumps at once. Dumps at once :rlaugh: One person might have an X pipe and Flowmasters another might have an X pipe and Bassani mufflers. All combinations are gonna sound different and power numbers are gonna differ like I said with how much exhaust your engine needs to push out. An X pipe on a stock engine might not improve numbers until you start making serious HP from the engine and it needs the uninhibited flow of the "X" design. My 2 pennies.
