I've been having a bit of conflicting feelings about this myself. I'll soon have the cobra front fascia, 10th anniversary brakes, and 2000 cobra Rs...I figure as long as I don't put a cobra emblem on it anywhere I'll be happy enough that I'm not creating a fauxbra. Plus, I think a lot of it has to do with people that actually call their car a Cobra after doing all the body work to make it look like one. I think that is bunk.

I just like some of the cobra parts' aesthetics.

I still don't know what I'm going to do for the side emblems (currently none). I don't like the stock GT emblem. I considered the fox 5.0 emblems, but I think I'll either be putting on V6 ponies, or I'll just leave it the way it is

see i ordered the black cobra brakes. it did bother me that i might have the cobra on it but not any more. the way i see it, its an upgrade part. i up graded to cobra parts because they are better. i still have gt on the side and bumper. you wouldnt cover up brembo on your brakes would you?

same as when people buy saleen kits. they want the look but tell people its not a real one.

My cobra calipers say BAER on them, but the red inset stickers melted and peeled away long ago. Now the calipers are all grungy and you cant really read much of anything unless you get really close.... I don't like to advertise unless I get paid for it.

I went with cobra fronts and baer eradispeed 13" rear with adapters. they are fine but i can't really tell the world of difference in the rears.

on the phony pony cobra thought: i wanted to order saleen full kit since i have the saleen rear bumper already but i am actually leaning towards stalker kit from cervini. i have seen many saleens here in cali fast saleen to slow ass saleen to broken rear bumper hanging saleen...trust me there are saleens everywhere here. but have not seen stalker yet. it would be awesome. anyways let the gt emblem alone man. i think gt mustang emblems looks way better then 5.0 on there but i say do the cobra front. that will look awesome or just throw a lip spoiler and call it a day. GT front looks really good with the chin spoiler. but on the calipers "DO-IT!" weather it's cobra, mach1, bullitt, 20th aniv, whatever it is "they all look the same to me"
