Hey guys-

Anyone here upgrade to a 200 amp PA perfromance monster from the 130.. It seems the 130 isnt cutting the task on my car with the MKViii fan and all the other stuff-and i wanted to know anyone's experineces before i go for the cabbage.

I would greatly apprecoate all replies!
Many Thanks-Anthony :flag: :nice:

If you've already done the 130 amp upgrade correctly (i.e. wiring upgrade) then in your case, it should just be a drop in replacement. I'm assuming of course, that all of this is on a Fox.

Hey Daggar-

yup! 91 LX-vert, did the wire upgradefor the 13o, i was wondering if anyone seen a difference in the charging and all?
If its worth the $289 bucks.....

Thanks-Anthony

If you look at the website and select the different alternators from the drop down menu, it should show you the idle amp output as well as the total output. The output at idle is the one you need to be most concerned with. If it's not any higher at idle than your 130 amp then I'd tend to think that the upgrade would not be worth the expense.

i use the 200 amp and an optima battery.

havent been able to drop the volts before. running 2 amps, hi-beams, heater on full, sitting still it didnt budge.

it should cover whatever you need.

Hey 331pony- & guys
130 amp 80 @ idle
200 amp 100 @ dile
Do you think 20 more amps @ idle wiill make a difference?
What do you think 20 more amps @ idle breaks down into Volts, because thats where it matter-right?

Many Thanks-Anthony

Cool beans-Thanks bro.

I just hate when i put my A/C on and the MKViii is on-You can actually see the voltage drop down, then once the fan cycles off-Its boosted back to normal-I figured-Just do the 200 AMPER and be done with it!
Thanks-Anthony

It better work because there aren't many other options out there. hehe. The 25 percent at idle should help out quite a bit though if not solve the problem completely. How many amps does the MKVIII draw on full anyways?

Hey sicarius-

Thanks for replying, The MKViii fan pulls 100 amps at start up and then a constant 43-33 amps. Its a monster, but definitely worth every penny-Just not having to watch the dreaded temp gauge in traffic anymore-PRICELESS!
The real PITA is when you turn the A/C on high, thats when you watch the volts drop almost to 12.5...... But if you drop it to medium-It increases. I just hate that ****!

Whatta ya think-
