Anyone use this H/C/I combo?

Yeah, another damn combo thread, lol.

I was just curious if anyone had this combo.

AFR-165/61cc
TFS Stage 1 Cam
TFS Track Heat Intake

Supporting Mods (for gee whiz info)
24lb Injectors
Pro-M 75mm
FRPP 65mm TB
1.6-RR's (stud)
Long Tube Headers
O/R H-Pipe
Moser Axles
+Plus all the stuff in the sig.

Ok... It's all installed.

I went with the cheaper Typhoon intake and got the AFR 165's w/ the 58cc chambers instead of the 61cc. (Read sig for full list)

It's a night and day difference... it takes up to about 3200 RPM before the combo really starts to kick in, but after that hold on. Revs real clean up to 6000 RPM, I'm sure it can go further but I need a chip to get around the rev limiter.

I havn't been to the track with it yet. There is only an 1/8th mile track near me but I'll post times once I get a chance to go.

PS: Spend the extra money to get a TrickFlow, Edelbrock, Holley, etc. intake. The Professional Products intake needs a lot of cleaning up in the ports and it generally didn't strike me as a quality piece despite all the positive feedback it has in the rating area of this site. Don't get me wrong though, I think it flows pretty good but I spent three afternoons porting the hell out of it. Buy it only if you have time and dont mind porting it. Just my 2¢.

Yeah I'm going with a similar combo like yours...FTI cam, AFR 165's 58cc (better for NA), and Edelbrock Performer Intake and all that supporting stuff (timing chain, injectors, maf, gaskets, lifters etc.)...I'm going to start installing in about a month...

So how did the install go...any problems?

I wouldn't worry about the chip to help you rev higher than 6g...I think 6g is about all you want to go on the stock shortblock...

A buddy of mine has a similar combo.

MAC CAI, 75 pro M, 65mm TB, Edelbrock Performer intake, AFR 165's w/spring upgrade, TFS Stage 1, advanced 2* on 1.7's, BBK shorties, o/r H, Mac muffs, with other mods, He is GaBoy90LX on Corral.net. Runs good for him too.
