well the old aod still has something wrong with it. so i am admitting defeat. so im just gonna take it to a pro and let it be rebuilt. so ive decided that i was gonna throw a set of 4r70w planets in there, i have access to them froma local jy. what all do i need to get out of the tranny? will those gears go in the aod drums?? i just need to know what all to rob and take to my trans guy.

so this means ill have a bigger cooler, wide ratio gear set, transgo hp shift kit(no hi-rev gov) and 3.73's out back....sound like its gonna be a good combo?? im thinkin about a stall conv too, but im not sure if funds will allow it along with everything else, not unless i can find a used one that doesnt cost too much.....

If the tranny is already out, try and scrap up some extra cash and get the stall convertor, cause it will really make the car launch of the line, I think the convertor is the heart of the tranny JMO.

ok heres the new deal, after readin about building up the aod, i see that the general concensus is that the converter is "the most important" upgrade. so my delimma now is that if i put forth to a nice converter...then i wont have enough cash to do the wide ratio gears. so, would it be worth the trade, just do the converter instead of the wide ratio stuff.

converter would be better by far. dont think the wide ratio sets are all that great. you have more rpm drop between shifts with them.
